This article reveals the specifics of adapting mentally disabled children to social life and preparing them for independent living. Basically, the literature lists the views on the nature of the issue. The article emphasizes the issue of educating a mentally disabled child and preparing him for social life. At present, special boarding schools provide education for children with mild to moderate mental retardation.
