During this session, participants will learn about the steps taken to use curriculum mapping as an assessment tool, what worked well, challenges encountered, and recommendations going forward at the graduate and undergraduate level. The program will demonstrate how the program curriculum map can be linked to the general educational outcomes and aligned with intuition outcomes (Banta, 2014; Hundley & Kahn, 2019). The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Initiative at Hostos Community College focuses on melding assessment and faculty development through a scholastic approach. In order to facilitate a campus-wide engagement in assessment, particularly related to the effectiveness of classroom instruction, the focus remains on individual expectations and talents, professional responsibilities, and using formative and summative assessment to improve student success and recidivism. This was initiated through open dialogue on the critical need for inquiry-based instruction, targeted presentations, and a sustainable network of support.

Community colleges serve diverse populations including LGB emerging adults who are attempting to find their place within society. Through a thematic analysis of narrative interviews and a focus group we found on one, rural campus there is a culture of isolation, which may limit individuals growth both personally and academically.

This study aimed to assess the validity of the Andragogy in Practice Inventory (API) and to examine the relationships among adult learning principles and processes and learner satisfaction in Jordan. The results indicated that the API is a valid instrument and its components and learner satisfaction are positively related.

This qualitative study examined the intercultural experiences of three adult educators who taught English in Istanbul, Turkey. Taylor’s (1994) learning model of becoming interculturally competent helped make sense of the learning processes of the intercultural experiences the participants shared and reflected on in this study.
