The problem of this study was to assess the effects of four proxemic zones (intimate, personal, social, and public) on the performance of randomly selected sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students from East Tennessee State University Laboratory School. Method. Literature was reviewed in order to define the concept of proxemics, to present evidence of the Importance of proxemics in human cultures, and to provide specific educational research findings dealing with the concept of proxemics. The purpose of the study was to determine whether there were statistically significant relationships between selected personal characteristics of school board members of the First Development District of Tennessee and the relative importance those board members assigned to selected problem areas in education. Studies were conducted to evaluate the nutritive value of three wheat cultivars produced at South Dakota State University. The three wheats were Kitt, Era and Rall. Crude protein analysis by the Kjeldahl method, amino acid content and a biological assay were conducted on all three wheat flours. Kjeldahl analysis yielded the following percentage proteins for Kitt, Era and Rall respectively; 18.1, 13.7, and 11.9. Lysine was the first limiting amino acid for rats in all three cultivars under investigation. Diets consisting of four protein levels of each wheat flour, four protein levels of casein control diet and one protein level …

A nutrition survey was conducted in which the diets of 79 pregnant Sioux Indian women living on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota were evaluated. A 24-hour recall was used and background information was collected by the researcher at Public Health Service prenatal clinics. The dietary intakes were evaluated according to Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). Diets were considered to be good if they provided all nutrients (protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and ascorbic acid) and energy at or above recommended levels, and poor if they provided one or more nutrients below two-thirds the RDA. Two-hundred and twenty successful and 143 unsuccessful free throw attempts, performed by 20 members of the South Dakota State University men's varsity basketball team, were photographed. Components of each trial which were analyzed included: (1) angle of release, (2) angle of entry, (3) height of the arch, (4) horizontal distance of the point of release from the highest point of the arch, (5) horizontal distance of the highest point of the arch to the front of the rim, and (6) height of the release. The purpose of this study was to determine the present status of intercollegiate varsity athletic letterwinners [sic] of Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Of equal importance to this study were the opinions and attitudes of these athletes toward their varsity athletic experience at Augustana College. All varsity letterwinners [sic] included in records obtained from the Alumni and Athletic office files, 1920 to 1977, were sent a questionnaire. Nationally, the elderly know fewer facts about nutrition as compared to younger people (41). Senior citizens have relatively poor diets and many are at nutritional risk. The Congregate Meals Program (CMP) provides one low-cost meal a day, five days a week for participants over 60 years of age and their spouses. The subjects were 30 female college undergraduates enrolled in gymnastics and tumbling courses in the Fitness and Lifetime Activities Program (non-majors) or the Professional Skills Program (HPER majors) at South Dakota State University.
