O trabalho descreve o desenvolvimento de um movimento curricular surgido no Brasil, cujo objetivo era a elaboração de textos e materiais didáticos para o ensino de Ciências nas escolas de 1º e 2º graus. O estudo abrange o período de 1950 a 1980 e refere-se ás atividades desenvolvidos por três organizações: a Fundação Brasileira para o Desenvolvimento do Ensino de Ciências (FUNBEC), o Instituto Brasileiro de Educação, Ciências e Cultura (IBECC), e o Projeto Nacional para a Melhoria de Ensino de Ciências (PREMEN).

O trabalho apresenta os resultados de um estudo que teve como objetivo identificar os livros didáticos de Ciências utilizadas no Colégio Pedro II, entre os anos de 1838 e 1900. Na investigação, vinte e quatro autores e vinte e seis livros didáticos foram identificados.
The article presents the results of a study whose objective was to identify science textbooks used in the College Pedro II between the years 1838 and 1900. In the investigation twenty-four authors and twenty-six textbooks were identified.

"This book is too superficial, but it meets my needs better than others available." This quotation illustrates the equivocal praise which business instructors provide the textbooks that they adopt for their capstone policy courses. Ten representative strategy/policy textbooks were reviewed and almost all of them received at least one instructor's nomination as the best strategy textbook available, yet reviewers consistently identified deficiencies and their intent to change books. What is it about business strategy/policy textbooks or courses that brings out consistent inconsistency across text users even when they evaluate the same book? Work And Life Away From Work: Predictors Of Faculty Satisfaction, Mary Deane Sorcinelli

As one aspect of a study on faculty career development, relationships between work and life away from work were explored for 112 faculty members. The sample, from one department in the humanities and one in the natural sciences and from two professional schools, was stratified by academic rank and sex. The study employed in-depth interviews followed by questionnaires. Results of regression analyses indicated that both aspects of work and life outside of work were related to work satisfaction; likewise, work as well as nonwork conditions were associated with satisfaction in life away from work.
