Over three years, an urban school district created four new alternative programs at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels and have seen significant improvements in both academic performance and behavior among the students involved. Restorative practices are proactive approaches to creating a fair process and providing students with a voice in their classrooms, schools, and school district. This presentation focuses on the practical skills that are used to facilitate restorative practices. The presenters will pose scenarios and facilitate discussions to increase the attendees' ability to use restorative tools and techniques.
