Articles
Many ethical questions have been raised regarding the use of social media and the internet, mainly related to the protection of young people in the digital environment. In order to critically address the research question "who is responsible for ethically protecting minors in the digital environment?", this paper will review the main literature available to understand the role of parents, the government, and companies in protecting young people within the digital environment. We employed a holistic process that covers a state-of-the-art review and desk research. The article is divided into four sessions; (1) Government Policies from the European Union (EU) …

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This study focuses on the impact of CSR on the library’s performance in collaboration with CSR programs. Using the purposive sampling method, the sample was 350 library service users in Indonesia. Data was collected through a Google Form questionnaire distributed on social media. SEM-PLS was used to analyze five hypotheses, which were accepted. This study indicates that CSR in the library is significantly positively related to library image, customer value, and loyalty. In addition, library image and customer value are positively related to library visitor loyalty. Currently, the social responsibility literature is only limited to the customer perspective, and not …

The Triumph Of Nonsense In Management Studies: A Commentary, Peter Kai, Howard Thomas
The Triumph Of Nonsense In Management Studies: A Commentary, Peter Kai, Howard Thomas
Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business
Professor Dennis Tourish’s recent essay (AMLE, March 2020) provides an analysis of why business schools and management education are perceived to be in a state of crisis. This commentary focuses on one important aspect of Tourish’s criticism of the management education field; namely, the quality, value, and appropriateness of the field’s research in advancing knowledge. His main criticisms are that the failure of management research arises from its extremely strong focus on theory development, its inadequate writing, and the formulaic, template style and formal structure of research papers in leading journals. Indeed, the rules and practices underlying the …

Rejoinder To “Confronting The Crisis Of Confidence In Management Studies: Why Senior Scholars Need To Stop Setting A Bad Example” From The Asian Perspective, Toru Yoshikawa
Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business
Critical issues that Bill Harley discusses such as the lack of value in management research output can possibly be amplified by the diffusion of the same research practices, goals, and norms around the world and in Asia. Although the issues raised by Bill Harley touch on three levels - university, business school, and the management field - this rejoinder focus on research at Asian business schools in general and also specifically research in the management field to share an Asian perspective.

The Global Learning Crisis, Claudia Costin
Asian Management Insights
In September 2015, the UN General Assembly approved the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), one of which, the SDG-4, focuses on the educational goal of ensuring free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education that will lead to relevant and effective learning outcomes. This goal, which is to be achieved by 2030, is ambitious. Even today, there are too many children without access to a school, or those who are not learning the basics, or dropping out of school.
