The present study aimed to identify the extent of using research systems that are the new generation for the library index, similar to the interface of the beneficiaries that allows access to all information, and satisfaction with it in Palestinian libraries in light of the technological environment from the viewpoint of librarians and researchers. This article discusses the development and delivery of a three-week asynchronous online course on Jesuit history, education, and the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP) for librarians working in Association of Jesuit Colleges and University (AJCU) institutions. Created by two instruction librarians and one instructional designer from a pair of AJCU institutions, the course explores incorporating the IPP -- a contemplative learning model -- into a one-shot, single class library instruction session. Library 2.0 (L2) has been discussed in depth in library circles in recent years. This article looks at L2 initiatives and technology implementation with regard to L2 and proposes a reboot, repositioning the library portal as a Social Research Management System (SRMS). This SRMS adheres to the L2 principles of purposeful, user-driven, library services. The SRMS is envisioned as the center of academic research and activity at universities, not as a peripheral tool. The article reports on the efforts of the Atlanta Emerging Librarians in encouraging students and new librarians to participate in distance education programs in library science. Programs were promoted by the group through library school electronic mailing lists and the membership of the Georgia Library Association. The group conducted a program on library user instruction in March 2009 featuring librarians as speakers, including Anne Wallace and Casey Long. One of the popular programs during the event was "Meet With the Admins."

In most non-western societies, the self-system (personal standards of judging and guiding one’s actions) is much more inter-dependent on family and society, whereas in western societies, especially in the U.S., it is dependent on the individual self.
