Cocaine And Timing: Drug Effects Under A Mixed Fixed-Interval Extinction Schedule, Vincent O. Hodge Aug 1991

Cocaine And Timing: Drug Effects Under A Mixed Fixed-Interval Extinction Schedule, Vincent O. Hodge

Masters Theses

The effects of cocaine hydrochloride (3.2-56.2 mg/kg) were determined in rats performing under a mixed fixed-interval 60-seconds extinction 120-seconds schedule of food delivery. Responses were recorded in successive 5-second bins. With the exception of the highest dose (56.2 mg/kg), cocaine did not significantly affect rate of responding under the fixed-interval component or extinction component, or the time of peak responding under the extinction component. The highest dose significantly reduced response rates and shifted the time of peak responding leftward to quicker and earlier moments. Results are discussed in terms of possible rate- and time-dependent effects ...

How To Use Absolute Keto ??, Sharoniese Niese

sharoniese niese

Absolute Keto Truly and no. While low-carb diets aren't new, keto has an alternate macronutrient profile than other low-carb diets like Atkins. Most keto weight watchers begin off with an eating routine where 70% or a greater amount of the calories originate from fat–and carb admission is constrained to only 5% of calories or less. The old Atkins plan took into account up to 10% of calories to be expended from carbs, and supports more elevated amounts of proteins than fat.

Student Work

The purpose of this study was to kinematically describe the movements of the lower extremities in running with running shoes and running barefoot. Another purpose of this study was to identify and compare the anatomical and mechanical adaptations that occur. Seven college age females, members of the University of Nebraska at Omaha cross-country team, and one local competitive long-distance female runner 27 yrs old, were subjects of this study. All subjects were free of any physical disability that could have caused an impaired performance.

All subjects completed one testing session consisting of three acceptable trials each with and without their ...

G91-1034 Evaluating The Feeding Value Of Fibrous Feeds For Dairy Cattle, Rick J. Grant Jan 1991

G91-1034 Evaluating The Feeding Value Of Fibrous Feeds For Dairy Cattle, Rick J. Grant

Historical Materials from University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension

This NebGuide describes what makes fiber unique as a nutrient, how it's measured, and the impact different dietary fiber levels have on milk production and feed intake.

Fiber content of feed or forage affects its feeding value. Understanding fiber and how it is used is necessary to properly feed dairy cows. Each of the following topics will be addressed to better understand fiber nutrition in the dairy cow:

1. What is fiber?

2. How will too little or too much fiber in the diet affect the cow's metabolism and subsequent production?

3. What are optimal levels of fiber ...

Ec91-1764 Windbreak Establishment, James R. Brandle, Patricia Boehner, Sherman Finch

Historical Materials from University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension

successful windbreak planting depends on proper establishment and care during the first few years after planting. Time spent in site preparation, weed control, and replanting is repaid many times during the lifetime of the windbreak. Take no shortcuts in the planning and establishment of your windbreak.

Windbreaks are investments in the future value of your property. Each windbreak system is unique and your windbreak should be designed for your site and objectives. Your local conservation office can provide help in designing and installing your windbreak. These organizations can also help with recommendations on where to buy planting stock and how ...

G91-1022 Guide To Growing Houseplants, Don Steinegger, Frederick P. Baxendale, John E. Watkins Jan 1991

G91-1022 Guide To Growing Houseplants, Don Steinegger, Frederick P. Baxendale, John E. Watkins

Historical Materials from University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension

Proper care can extend houseplants' lives. This NebGuide offers hints on conditioning, light, fertilizing and more.

Many people enjoy houseplants; in fact, raising them is one of the fastest growing indoor hobbies. Caring for houseplants offers opportunities for people who like to work with living things and watch them develop. Today, houseplants are an integral part of indoor decor -- especially in winter.

An artificial indoor environment often hinders plant development. High temperatures, low humidity, lack of sunlight, poor soil conditions, and improper watering contribute to most houseplant problems. In addition, insects or plant diseases occasionally damage houseplants.

While plants last ...

G91-1047 Acidosis, Rick Stock, Robert Britton Jan 1991

G91-1047 Acidosis, Rick Stock, Robert Britton

Historical Materials from University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension

This NebGuide discusses why acidosis occurs, its economic considerations, and methods to prevent and treat acidosis.

Acidosis is the most important nutritional disorder in feedlots today. Caused by a rapid production and absorption of acids from the rumen when cattle consume too much starch (primarily grain) or sugar in a short period of time, acidosis causes cattle to be stressed. As long as cattle are finished on grain, cows are grazed on cornstalk fields (grain consumption) or high energy (grain) diets are fed to dairy cows, acidosis will be an important problem.

Cattle evolved digesting roughages that ferment slowly in ...

G91-1039 Respiratory Infections In Domestic Poultry Flocks, Eva Wallner-Pendleton, Dale Webb Jan 1991

G91-1039 Respiratory Infections In Domestic Poultry Flocks, Eva Wallner-Pendleton, Dale Webb

Historical Materials from University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension

This NebGuide discusses the most common respiratory infections in poultry, and includes steps to diagnose, prevent, and treat each.

Small poultry flocks are susceptible to a number of respiratory infections. Some of these produce extremely mild illness while others may result in a high number of deaths.

Regardless of whether birds are raised for meat, eggs, breeding or show purposes, respiratory infections result in decreased performance. They may also disqualify a bird for show, and pose disease hazards for other poultry on the same premises.

Respiratory infections in poultry have several causes, but outward signs may appear similar to the ...

G91-1027 Protein And Carbohydrate Nutrition Of High Producing Dairy Cows, Rick J. Grant Jan 1991

G91-1027 Protein And Carbohydrate Nutrition Of High Producing Dairy Cows, Rick J. Grant

Historical Materials from University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension

This NebGuide discusses the protein and carbohydrate requirements for milk production by dairy cows, and feeding guidelines to meet those requirements.

Crude protein makes up 14 to 19 percent, and carbohydrates 65 to 75 percent of the total ration dry matter in common dairy cow diets. As milk production per cow increases above 19,000 to 20,000 pounds per year, understanding how these nutrients are used by the dairy cow for milk production allows the formulation of diets that optimize solids-corrected milk production.
