While the significance of Hotel Digital Capability (HDC) has been acknowledged in the literature, limited attention has been given to its measurement. This study endeavors to identify the dimensions of HDC and construct a reliable measurement scale. A combined approach of qualitative and quantitative methods across three studies was employed to achieve the research objectives. Study 1, grounded in interviews, delineated HDC as a multidimensional construct encompassing digital basic capability, digital integration capability, digital application capability, and digital optimization capability. This study aims to validate the Chinese Cultural Value Scale in Tourism (CCV-T) across cultures, using a sample of 405 Australian tourists. Through the application of Confirmatory Composite Analysis (CCA) within Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), the study demonstrates that the CCV-T scale exhibits excellent measurement qualities, including indicator reliability, construct reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and nomological validity. The CCV-T scale comprises five dimensions: Life and Leisure Enjoyment (LLE), Filial Piety and Relationship (FPR), Self-fulfilment, Righteousness, and Humanity, consisting of 17 measurement items. This research examined the effect of pandemic risk message framing (amplifying vs. attenuating) on tourists' safety behavior from the perspective of heuristic-systematic information processing, as well as the roles of ontological security threat and public opinion climate of risk in moderating such effect. The results of two experiments showed that risk message framing had significant effects on tourists' heuristic processing and systematic processing, and systematic processing mediated the effect of risk message framing on tourists' safety behavior. Guided by attention restoration theory and stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) theory, we developed an integrated model to investigate the impact of perceived environmental restoration on forest park visitors' pro-environmental behavior through the mediation of place attachment. We further tested the moderating role of eco-centrism to provide theoretical and practical implications for the sustainability of tourism destinations and positive human-nature interactions. Using a sample of 504 visitors to a national forest park in China, our study indicated all three dimensions of environmental restorative perception (compatibility, extent, and away) positively influenced place attachment.
