Nonprofit organizations play a major role in maintaining balance in societies. They provide support and services to communities that governments cannot. They create an environment in communities wherein social problems can be more easily addressed. Nonprofit organizations also contribute billions of dollars to the economy and create thousands of jobs in communities.
