Due to COVID-19, there has been an increase in ransomware attacks that took healthcare by surprise. Patient satisfaction is perceived as a significant benefit of hospitals’ investments in health information exchange (HIE). Successful implementation of HIE systems lead to increased organizational efficiency in hospitals and more likely to enable doctors and other staff members to better meet patient needs and expectations. This research draws upon system success theory to examine how HIE adoption affects patient satisfaction. In addition, this research investigates whether the relationship between HIE adoption and patient satisfaction is mediated by organizational efficiency. This is the first research study that draws upon system success theory to understand how HIE adoption affects patient satisfaction.

We use a data driven approach on a cleaned adverse drug reaction database to determine the reaction severity of several covid-19 drug combinations currently under investigation. We further examine their safety for vulnerable populations such as individuals 65 years and older. Our key findings include 1. hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine are associated with increased adverse drug event severity versus other drug combinations already not recommended by NIH treatment guidelines, 2. hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin are associated with lower adverse drug event severity among older populations, 3. lopinavir/ritonavir had lower adverse reaction severity among toddlers and 4. the combination of azithromycin, hydroxychloroquine and tocilizumab is safer than …

The reliance on information systems forces the health care organizations to consider two security management issues: information control and security policy. The objective of this article is to examine a direction to effectively support and enhance the health care delivery through information systems in hospitals. Decision making in occupational health care management is complex due to the various parties involved in receiving, delivering, and/or paying for^ these services. This paper presents the view of MIS to support occupational health care as a system using Anthony's Paradigm to provide the decision making structure. Informational requirements reflect the hierarchy of strategic, tactical, and operational levels. A matrix of occupational health care services, responsibilities, and participants is utilized. Such matrix provides the foundation to couple needs and requirements of all participants with information system specifications.
