Introduction: In the United States, medication errors has been a big problem and was the number three cause of death in 2016. Computerize Physician Order Entry (CPOE), also known as Computerized Provider Order Entry, is the process of physicians or providers entering treatment instructions or radiology, laboratory, and medication orders via computer rather than paper, and has led to a decrease in medication errors. Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) use in healthcare facilities was examined for utilization and efficacy, although the advantages are abundant, healthcare facilities have been reluctant to adopt it due to associated costs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility of a U.S NHIN by exploring and determining the benefits of and assessing the barriers to its implementation. The results of this study suggest that implementation and utilization of NHIN by healthcare industry stakeholders leads to an increased quality of patient care, increased patient-provider communication, and cost savings opportunities. Research Brief: "Veterans’ Attitudes Toward Work And Disability Compensation: Associations With Substance Abuse", Institute For Veterans And Military Families At Syracuse University

This study compares attitudes towards employment and service-connected disabilities among substance using and non-using veterans. In practice, veterans place a high value on being employed, regardless of whether they use substances; however, veterans who used substances were more likely to express fear of losing disability benefits if they became employed. In policy, state-level agencies and programs might work with counseling centers to determine the most productive ways to address the specific employment needs of veterans with disabilities and/or substance use issues.
