Scholars and practitioners have acknowledged that managerial coaching has been linked to positive outcomes for the coachee and organization and have begun to examine the dual developmental outcomes for managerial coaches as well as the concept of reverse managerial coaching. Some organizational leaders are unable to retain talented employees, which results in productivity loss and increased costs associated with employee recruitment and training. The purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore the strategies leaders of an oil and gas organization use to retain employees. The participants comprised 5 leaders located in Houston, Texas, with successful experience in implementing strategies to retain employees. AbstractRegistered nurse (RN) turnover significantly impacts organizational profitability and performance. The turnover of nurses also impacts business practices as it may disrupt the organization's ability to properly staff and provide efficient patient care. Further, nurse managers inability to retain RNs may result in problems such as loss of productivity and increased personnel costs.
