In an effort to understand content, its taxonomy and management, we define content management as the process of managing the creation, categorization, delivery and archiving of content in which workflow and business processes are maximized. Built upon what industry experts have to offer about enterprise content taxonomy, we have enacted a framework to better understand, create and manage enterprise taxonomies. This framework will be able to integrate rich content, modern computing technology, advanced analytics, automated worlflow, business requirements and human resources into a process where companies can easily manage their information for decision making and gaining competitive advantages.

Technology has improved to the point where web-sites for every course taught by an instructor are possible. This has produced many instructional benefits; however, it has also created a new set of problems. The problem addressed by this paper is the question of which web-site components to include in the class web-site. This is important because different web components support different student learning styles. On-line courses have become an important component of the delivery of courses in all areas of education. The validity of online delivery is challenged if Web students perform poorly in subsequent major courses. This paper investigates the effect of mode of delivery and other factors on the level of success, failure, potential, and limitations of web delivery in course sequences. This study was conducted on a two-course sequence in the Computer Information Systems Department at Metropolitan State College of Denver. The result of this research identifies important factors impacting student success in this two course sequence.

This paper reports on a longitudinal pedagogical study of performance and perceptions of 1021 students in 39 online and 25 face-to-face sections of seven different courses taught by six different professors. The differences between the students' perceptions of the quality of the instructors and student performance are statistically significant based on the mode of course delivery. Students rated the quality of instructors in the online courses higher for the duration of the study. Student grade averages are slightly lower in the online courses. In this paper I will take a look at two archetypical positions: at a state-oriented and a market-oriented view. This study is an exploratory investigation into whether different leaning styles predict performance in an online course. Students enrolled in several cohorts of an accredited MBA program were surveyed with regard to their learning styles and those styles were correlated with the grades earned in the course. The program is unique in that the entire program could be completed online.

Business scholars and practitioners are becoming increasingly aware of the opportunities that exist when service is added to traditional product offerings. However, the literature has not previously explored the question of how the IS function is responding to greater emphasis on service. In this paper, we employ a multi-case research design to investigate the role of the IS function in supporting increasing levels of service. Recent literature on sociotechnical systems has employed the concept of generativity to explain the remarkable capacity for digital artifacts to support decentralized innovation and the emergence of rich business ecosystems. In this paper, we propose agent-based computational modeling as a tool for studying the evolution of generativity, and offer a set of building blocks for constructing agent-based models in which generativity evolves. We describe a series of models that we have created using these building blocks, and summarize the results of our computational experiments to date. This research contributes to the literature on the antecedents of information systems (IS) use. Drawing from the management control systems literature, we argue that organizational performance is an important antecedent of IS use. Specifically, we argue that periods of performance decline are followed by increased use of decision support systems as managers try to diagnose the causes of performance decline. This offers an alternative perspective to prior literature that has primarily hypothesized a positive effect of IS use on organizational performance. The present study proposed and tested a model that examines the relationship between leadership style, employee’s participation, and justice perceptions. The paper extended the literature of the justice by connecting three major research areas (leadership style, employee’s participation, and organizational justice), and examined the influences of leadership style and employee’s participation in shaping employee’s perception of justice. Results indicated that transactional, transformational, and dynamic leadership have positive impact on distributive, procedural, and interactional justice. Moreover, the effect of leadership style on organizational justice was indirect through employee’s participation. This study focused on the factors that affect motivation of faculty in Saudi Arabia. It included two surveys and open-ended queries to a focus group of five academic managers and 25 faculty members of varying nationalities, rank, and institutes in Saudi Arabia. The research showed that the faculties in Saudi Arabia’s higher education industry feel disconnected from the program development. We report on an initial design for a firm-level cloud computing readiness metrics suite. This paper examines a monopoly platform’s two-sided pricing strategy through modeling the trades between the participating sellers and buyers. In this approach, the network effects emerge endogenously through the equilibrium trading strategies of the two sides. We show that platform pricing depends crucially on the characteristics associated with market liquidity, including both sides’ entry costs, the buyers’ preferences, and the distribution of the sellers’ quality. The platform may subsidize sellers if the market is sufficiently liquid, whereas buyer subsidy can be optimal given an illiquid market. Advertising is a crucial tool for demand creation and market expansion. When a manufacturer uses a retailer as a channel for reaching end customers, the advertising strategy takes on an additional dimension: which party will perform the advertising to end customers. Cost sharing (“co-operative advertising”) arrangements proliferate the option by decoupling the execution of the advertising from its funding. We examine the efficacy of cost sharing in a model of two competing manufacturer–retailer supply chains who sell partially substitutable products that may differ in market size. The growth of online marketplaces is accompanied by significant heterogeneity of the third-party sellers. The marketplace owner often applies policies that favor the sellers who offer higher values to buyers, which puts the lower-value sellers at an even greater disadvantage. This study identifies the factors that have a direct effect on a manager's decision towards Open Source System (OSS) enterprise system adoption in Malaysia. Using the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, the research is initiated by inviting the managers in Malaysian organizations who implemented OSS. A survey was conducted via online OSS social communities and by sending emails to shortlisted public.
