The management of innovation is among the most critical capabilities contributing to the success of modern organizations. It is also complex and frequently misunderstood. In this paper we first provide a broad overview of the organizational innovation literature [the Past] to distill five fundamental themes: What is innovation, why is it important, where does it come from, who engages in it, and how can it be best executed? Should the United States (U.S.) companies use International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) instead of the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)? This paper examines the degree of deviation between the firms' earnings, under both financial reporting languages, and the causes for the change in earnings. Utilizing two methods, introduced in this paper, as well as t-testing, the sampled firms reported higher earnings under IFRS. The change in earnings was caused by: financial instruments, minority interest, pension activities, and or share-based compensation activities. On February 12, 2003, the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) published new concentrated animal feeding operation (CAFO) regulations designed to protect or restore water quality. EPA provided the option of adopting the national EPA CAFO regulations, or states could develop and implement their own regulations. Tennessee chose to develop and implement CAFO regulations that fit Tennessee’s animal production and water quality situations. In August 2004, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) issued the final CAFO regulations for poultry operations.

TDEC has defined a CAFO as an animal-feeding operation (AFO) if animals are confined for at least 45 days in …

The new CAFO rules, published February 12, 2003 in the Federal Register, were adopted within the authority of the 1972 Clean Water Act to address changes in the animal production industries. EPA’s revisions make the new regulations more effective in protecting or restoring water quality. They are more inclusive of certain sectors of the CAFO industries; removed several permitting exemptions; reflect a greater focus on land application; and emphasize accountability, inspections and recordkeeping. Transiting to a quarterly release, the Customer Satisfaction Index of Singapore (CSISG) has completed its first round of measurement for the Retail and Info-Communications sectors. Annually, CSISG currently measures 8 key economic sectors of Singapore with company, sub-sector, and sector results of two economic sectors released each quarter. The national score for 2010 will be updated in January 2011. CSISG company scores are generated based on face-to-face interviews with companies’ customers after the consumption of their products and services. This study examines how industry and occupation sex segregation are related to the utilization of flexible scheduling policies and perceptions of the career repercussions of using such policies. The analysis is performed on data from the 2002 National Study of the Changing Workforce (N = 2810). Findings suggest that the percentage of women per industry and occupation increase the likelihood of using flexible scheduling, however, the effect is not cumulative. The results show that organization family support interacts with gender and the sex composition of the industry in predicting use of flexible scheduling. Our comparative business historical examination of industry associations aims to enrich the under-theorized study of this distinctive type of meta-organization. We compare two New Zealand industry associations operating in the same supply chain but with differing degrees of associative capacity and types of external architecture. Our analysis of these associations builds on two strands of theory that rarely communicate with each other: New Institutional Economics (NIE) and Organizational–Institutional Theory (OIT). We demonstrate how NIE describes the structural potentialities for associational strength, while OIT addresses the relational context within associations. This paper investigates the concept of customers' perceived price fairness in the context of different price increase conditions. Several tourism service industries seem reluctant to systematically vary or occasionally rise prices, mostly because of potential negative consumer responses. Previous studies in behavioral pricing confirm that a price increase may be perceived as highly unfair and, with this, may lead to negative consequences for the firm.
