Assessing The Economic Feasibility Of Synthetic Natural Gas Under Conditions Of Uncertainty, Mohammad M. Iranmanesh

Retrospective Theses and Dissertations

The science of synthetic fuel production began in the seventeenth century. However, large-scale production of synthetic fuels started in the early 1900's and, for several decades, gas manufactured from coal significantly contributed to the U.S. economy. The production of synthetic fuels declined due to increases in the price of coal and discoveries of predominantly methane natural gas. Today, an extensive network of pipelines is used to transmit and distribute natural gas for industrial and residential applications. The decline of natural gas reserves in the United States, in conjunction with the availability of very large coal reserves, has provided the incentive …

A discussion of credit laws contained in the Utah Uniform Consumer Credit Code, complicated legal language versus layman's language in loans and sales, and enforcement will be presented in this paper. Following the report, there is a conclusion which summarizes the points presented and explains why I believe the American public needs a mass education …

The Formulation Of A Design To Evaluate The Effects Of Training On Banks, Alison Pratt Jan 1981

The Formulation Of A Design To Evaluate The Effects Of Training On Banks, Alison Pratt

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

A well-run business combines motivated, trained employees with the right work environment to produce the greatest results at the least cost. When the results (from a product or service) do not exceed costs by a sufficient margin, at least one part of the system is not operating efficiently. This problem is caused by a production deficiency, which occurs when actual performance does not match the desired performance (Herem, 1979). In order to determine the root of this problem, two areas must be examined. These areas are (a) the nature of the work environment and its organizational structure, which may prevent …

The Effect Of Methodological And Personal Factors On Attitude-Behavior Consistency, Neil H. Firtle Jan 1981

The Effect Of Methodological And Personal Factors On Attitude-Behavior Consistency, Neil H. Firtle

Dissertations, Theses, and Capstone Projects

The theoretical conceptualization of attitude presented in this dissertation assumed that attitude serves as a precursor of behavior. In order to validate the attitudinal construct, empirical research must provide evidence that a consistent relationship exists between attitude measured at a given point in time, and behavior measured at a later point in time than the professed attitude. Previous research has generally failed to support the consistency of the attitude-behavior relationship. The inconsistency in this relationship has been attributed to the contamination of several types of factors (i.e., methodological, personal and situational).

In this dissertation it was argued that the relationship …
