Supervisors of business project managers lack strategies to effectively evaluate the work of project managers, increasing the probability of project failure, and costing organizations billions of dollars in losses each year. Project managers who fail to apply strategies to prevent counterproductive work behavior in information technology projects could negatively affect users, budget costs, timelines, or projects. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore strategies that project managers used to prevent counterproductive work behavior that put project success at risk.
