Call center executives who lack effective strategies to retain employees face a disruption in service, employee performance and productivity, as well as an increase in operational expenses. Ineffective retention strategies can negatively impact call centers by increasing cost, decreasing talent quality and loss of the customer experience. Military veterans are quitting their first job after separating from the military service at an excessively high rate. Reducing employee turnover among military veterans is essential for organizational and HR managers to increase the company’s profitability and productivity. In 2018, over 3.1 million the United States health care employees vacated their jobs. Leaders who lack strategies to reduce employee turnover impose a significant financial burden on health care organizations. Grounded in transformational leadership theory, the purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore strategies health care leaders use to reduce employee turnover. Participants were five health care leaders from a hospital in Virginia who implemented successful strategies to reduce employee turnover.
