Research studies have shown that organizational leadership and support affect organizational outcomes in many sectors, including healthcare. However, less is known about how organizational leadership influences the quality of patient care by physicians. This study was guided by the perceived organizational support theory and leader-member exchange theory that provide general understanding of how supportive leadership influences staff wellbeing and productivity.
