In the United States, engagement levels of the multigenerational workforce are negatively affecting the overall business value. Employee engagement is important to hospitality industry leaders as an indicator of job performance, turnover, employee intentions, and organizational commitment. Approximately 160,000 assistant project managers in the construction industry willingly left the U.S. labor workforce in 2018. The cost of replacing an employee could amount up to 200% of the departing employee's annual salary for construction companies. Counterfeiting causes substantial negative impacts on intellectual property and opportunity costs to businesses worldwide. Anticounterfeiting department executives who lack multidimensional anticounterfeiting strategies to mitigate fakes may incur substantial financial loss and intellectual property theft. Grounded in the systems theory, the purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore the strategies that anticounterfeiting department managers use to mitigate counterfeiting.
