Comparison Of Renting Training Aircraft Using Data Envelopment Analysis, Heather Dickerson Jan 2016

Comparison Of Renting Training Aircraft Using Data Envelopment Analysis, Heather Dickerson

Undergraduate Review

Many elements are involved when a pilot is trying to decide which aircraft to pursue for rental. Uninformed new pilots decide to rent purely based upon the aircraft used for initial training, but once more variables are considered, the pilot will realize such an important decision must consider all aspects. Cost typically being the greatest determining factor, horsepower output of the engine, speed, the maximum load capacity, and the maximum altitude the aircraft is able to reach also tend to have a large effect on determining which aircraft will suit the needs of the pilot. Data Envelopment Analysis was used …

Purchasing Efficiency Measurement Of Selected Chinese Pv Panels Using Data Envelopment Analysis (Dea), Bingqing Zheng, Patrick E. Prince

Undergraduate Review

As a renewable energy generation, the solar Photovoltaic (PV) system has become a popular technique that converts sunlight to generate electrical power. However, most countries, especially like China met challenges in expanding their domestic market and widespread adoption by their own citizens. One of the major reasons why customers are hesitated to adopt solar panels is the difficulty in comparing a variety of solar panels with respect of multiple different dimensions without the aid of appropriate quantitative models. The PV panel’s purchasing efficiency is determined not only just by those technical factors identified by the current literature and practice, but …

Bribery And Controversy In The Us And Global Market, Kathleen Thompson, Charlotte Medina Jan 2012

Bribery And Controversy In The Us And Global Market, Kathleen Thompson, Charlotte Medina

Undergraduate Review

Throughout the history of trade and business, there have always been alternative—and often unethical—ways of closing sales in the form of extra kick-backs and luxurious goods. In modern times these unethical incentives are referred to as bribes. More recently, the practice of bribery has been linked to high-profile corruption and fraud cases in the United States, rocking the international marketplace for companies such as Pfizer, Avon, Johnson & Johnson, and Daimler AG. However, many international companies actually welcome bribery as a way to compete with other companies in the global marketplace. When looking at bribery and its effect on the …

Infomercial: A Marketing Odyssey, Bligh Macdonald Jan 2012

Infomercial: A Marketing Odyssey, Bligh Macdonald

Undergraduate Review

Few forms of media are so derided as the infomercial. It seems to ooze tackiness and low production standards, coupled with shameless pandering and questionable selling points. Still, the infomercial, or “direct-response” commercial, can be an astoundingly effective selling tool. In this age of ubiquitous mass media, infomercials for products such as the “Snuggie” and the “Shake Weight” have used their inherent “butt-of-joke” qualities to make millions and to attain cultural icon status. For this project, I researched the infomercial as a genre in an attempt to explain its success and rhetorical appeal. I then applied my analysis to the …
