The Role Of Leaders' Motivation, Entrepreneurial Leadership, And Organisational Agility In Social Enterprise Sustainability, Brian Karno Jan, Mira Maulida

The South East Asian Journal of Management

Research Aims: Expand the insights for social enterprises (SEs) to sustain their economic and social performance, considering the impact of leader’s motivation, entrepreneurial leadership, organisational agility, and competitive advantage.

Design/Methodology/Approach: The dataset was obtained from a survey of 102 SE strategic leaders in Indonesia, which was processed using PLS and SEM to test the hypothesis.

Research Findings: Motivation has a positive effect on entrepreneurial leadership but not on organisational agility. Entrepreneurial leadership has tridirectionally relationships with organisational agility, competitive advantage, and social firm performance. Motivating First-Generation Factory Employees: A Case Study Of The Garment Industry In Myanmar, Eitaro Kojima, Akihiko Ohno

The South East Asian Journal of Management

Research Aims: This study investigates how to foster and motivate factory employees at the onset of industrialisation.

Design/methodology/approach: A total of 728 employees of the garment sector in Myanmar were surveyed using a structured questionnaire.

Research Findings: The results of this study indicate 1) that employees’ maladaptation to factory discipline leads to workplace stress and fuels employees’ counter-productive behaviour and 2) that employees who perceive benevolence from the factory manager take on pro-organizational (vs counter-productive) behaviour based on social exchange rooted in indigenous patron-client ties.

The Impact Of Personal Characteristics And Intrinsic Motivation On Creative Behavior Among Indonesian Radio Station Managers, Nugroho J. Setiadi, Anees Janee Ali, Rehana Aafaqi

The main purpose of the article is to increase understanding in some personal characteristics affecting creative performance among Indonesian radio station managers’ leadership context. Using creativity-relevant personal characteristics and motivation as input model, the authors identified that both of these two variables are positively related to creative performance. The study hypothesized that Leader-member exchange (LMX) moderate the relationship between personal characteristics and creative performance.
