This collection consists of materials spanning 1941-1947 and includes business records and correspondence of the Central of Georgia Railway Company as well as detailed reports of employees’ United States military service during World War II. These reports include employee military records, interviews conducted by Central of Georgia Railway Company of veteran employees, and letters expressing their gratitude for their service in the war. Listings by date of accounts with various individuals and materials purchased or work done. Goods include bushels of barley or rye, pork, rum, coffee, etc. Work includes plowing, use of horses, mowing, etc. Also records sales of large volumes of salt, presumably used for fish processing.

The Hazzard Shoe Company was founded by Robert P. Hazzard about 1906. The company bought out Emerson Shoe Company in 1931. The company went out of business about 1973.

The collection includes business and financial records of the Hazzard Shoe Company of Augusta and Gardiner, Maine. Also includes records of the Emerson Shoe Company.
