The objective is to identify the practices and activities of PCs leading EU FP projects and to understand their impact on innovation outcomes. The survey findings confirm the lynchpin role of PCs in the European FP R&I projects. This study will investigative the factors that influence school non-attendance, in designated disadvantaged Irish primary schools (DEIS1). Currently, no comprehensive data exists on the factors contributing to the levels and types of non-attendance within the Irish context. Since 2003/2004, the National Educational Welfare Board (NEWB, Appendix A) the agency with responsibility for school attendance, has collected specific data on attendance levels and the frequency of non-attendance across all Irish schools. However, this does not provide information at the individual student level (NEWB, 2007).

Reports
Qualitative research plays an important role in business research. The popular research methods that researchers used are; Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed Methods. Researchers who conduct qualitative studies, often struggle to pick the best technique to analyse their data. This report aims to present six different methods that can be used to analyse qualitative data collected for business studies. A comparison between the techniques is found useful to present in order to help decision made by researchers who are embarking upon qualitative research studies. Qualitative Analysis Methods (QAM) can be used in some of the mixed-methods approaches as appropriate.

Medication Adherence With Smart Phones: Pharmacists Focused Apps, Anushree Priyadarshini, Maria Quinlan
Medication Adherence With Smart Phones: Pharmacists Focused Apps, Anushree Priyadarshini, Maria Quinlan
Reports
Medication adherence relates to the concept of compliance to a medicine regimen and is defined as ‘the extent to which a patient acts in accordance with the prescribed interval and dose of a dosing regimen’ (Cramer et al., 2008). Often desired health outcomes are not achieved due to patients, not taking their prescribed medication or taking them incompletely or inconsistently (Miller et al., 1997). This results in higher negative health outcomes and increasing cost of care and is therefore a growing global concern. Tackling the problem of non-adherence requires a collaborative, patient-centric approach and can be guided by modern technologies …

Rent Certainty Is Not Rent Control, Tom Dunne
Rent Certainty Is Not Rent Control, Tom Dunne
Reports
The housing crisis and the debate about rent control should result in a beneficial change to the regulation of the sector but the opportunity could be lost for want of clarity of thinking about the nature of rent certainty and the distinction between it and rent control. At present rent is regulated by the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 (RTA 2004) which provides that rent can only change once a year and cannot be more than the market rent. Many argue a greater degree of rent certainty is required and that rent should not be allowed to increase by more than …

Renting Trouble: Current Government Policy Of Relying On The Private Rented Sector To Deliver Social Housing Is Unlikely To Succeed, Tom Dunne
Reports
A review of the history of housing in Ireland shows that owner occupancy and social housing were policy choices by successive governments. Owner occupancy was heavily supported through a system of grants and tax breaks and social housing was directly provided through local authorities at subsidised rents. In recent years policy has changed and tenure neutrality is now guiding the government’s attitude to housing. This is a significant change which has not been sufficiently discussed and has consequences which are not appreciated. Relying on the market to provide rental housing for people on low incomes and who may be in …

"Through The Looking Glass; Understanding Consumer Inaction In Retail Financial Services", Tara Rooney, Katrina Lawlor, Eddie Rohan
Reports
Understanding why consumers choose to remain in relationships which they find less than satisfactory is a key concern for relationship marketing theory. In this paper we explore the alternative choices available to consumers after exit has been considered and then declined. Applying a narrative methodology within a social constructionist framework, the paper presents a theory of Relationship Neutrality. We go through the looking glass, into to a world of relationship contradictions and irrationality to consider long term relationship engagement which is different from the one theory has grown accustomed to.
