Cross-­functional teams are all the rage in business where teams working on new product development can benefit from greater innovativeness and creativity when more diverse work units are put together to develop consumer products [1]. Within the realm of academia, particularly within engineering disciplines, the objectives and interactions of students remains narrow and targeted to the discipline of study. In this paper we look at the potential of enhanced learning outcomes driven by working in a cross-­‐functional or multidisciplinary teams with an appropriate project being available.
