Volunteer tourism, also known as "voluntourism", has become a trendy way to market to culturally and environmentally conscious travelers who seek authentic experiences instead of traditional mass tourism where travelers have little interaction with the local culture. Voluntourism aspects are being added to existing travel itineraries and entire companies have been created around volunteering to specifically target college students. This thesis seeks to examine the individual motivations of college students who have previously participated in at least one voluntourism trip, including mission trips and alternative spring breaks. The relationship of alumni participation in on-campus activities resulting in alumni giving will be studied. Graduates from a private institution in Providence, RI will be invited to complete an online questionnaire to measure their engagement and giving levels. Using a series of pointed questions and a Likert scale, alumni will rate their attitude towards specific alumni activities in relation to their willingness to give to the institution following each opportunity. The purpose of this paper is to understand specific drivers of customer loyalty, experience, and physical appearance of a store. Based on the papers and studies that I have reviewed, I have identified different sub-categories within the criterion “physical appearance,” and argue that the notion of physical appearance should not be understood as a single homogeneous criterion. I have also shown that sub-categories such as visual diversity of store employees, in-store design, in-store signage and even logistic performance can all have some levels of impact, mostly positive, on customer loyalty. The increasing visibility of ecological alterations due to global climate change have required high-impact industries to reexamine their environmental impact. Transnational organizations such as the United Nations have identified the current management practices of the international tourism industry as a significant contributing factor to global warming. The high volume implications of the large-scale establishments necessary to lodging facilities in the tourism trade are responsible for damages such as resource depletion and pollution. This research paper aims to examine key antecedents in consumer responses to CSR to determine a link between CSR activity and consumers’ reactions to it. In this research proposal, key words are listed and briefly described as to their impact and benefits. A set of pre-tested structured questionnaires will be administered to 320 subjects. The responses to the items of these questionnaires are measures of the constructs under consideration, namely customer perception, customer satisfaction, corporate reputation, customer choice, corporate brand/influence, customer attitude and customer purchasing behavior.
