Eurasian Journal of Sport Science

Purpose: to develop a methodology aimed at improving the biomechanical mobility of discus throwers in special strength training and to determine the effectiveness in pedagogical practice.

Methods: The methods of analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observation, anthropometric method, determination of the angle of flight of the disk, pedagogical experiment, pedagogical testing, mathematical statistics were used. (On FREMGE, G-VOLK equipment).

Results: The parameters of the movement of a student athlete in discus throwing were studied and methods of biomechanical analysis were developed.

Conclusion: In our study, it was found that the relative increase in the duration of the experiment …

Prediction Of Iraqi Stock Exchange Using Optimized Based-Neural Network, Ameer Al-Haq Al-Shamery, Prof. Dr. Eman Salih Al-Shamery Dec 2021

Prediction Of Iraqi Stock Exchange Using Optimized Based-Neural Network, Ameer Al-Haq Al-Shamery, Prof. Dr. Eman Salih Al-Shamery

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

Stock market prediction is an interesting financial topic that has attracted the attention of researchers for the last years. This paper aims at improving the prediction of the Iraq-Stock-Exchange (ISX) using a developed method of feedforward Neural-Networks based on the Quasi-Newton optimization approach. The proposed method reduces the error factor depending on the Jacobian vector and Lagrange multiplier. This improvement has led to accelerating convergence during the learning process. A sample of companies listed on ISX was selected. This includes twenty-six banks for the years from 2010 to 2020. To evaluate the proposed model, the research findings are compared with …

An Integrated Fuzzy Goal Programming—Theory Of Constraints Model For Production Planning And Optimization, Habib Zare, Mahyar Kamali Saraji, Madjid Tavana, Dalia Streimikiene, Fausto Cavallaro Nov 2021

An Integrated Fuzzy Goal Programming—Theory Of Constraints Model For Production Planning And Optimization, Habib Zare, Mahyar Kamali Saraji, Madjid Tavana, Dalia Streimikiene, Fausto Cavallaro

Business Systems and Analytics Faculty Work

Manufacturing companies are under constant pressure to optimize the economic sustain-ability of their production systems. Production planning and optimization is a well-established strategy for considering resource constraints and improving economic productivity. This study proposes an integrated fuzzy goal planning and the theory of constraints for production planning and optimization. To this end, a hybrid Delphi–Buckley method was used to identify the relevant goals and a paired matrix questionnaire was used to determine the fuzzy weights of the goals. Furthermore, a fuzzy bottleneck detection algorithm was used to deal with the bottlenecks. A case study in the cable industry is presented …

Impact Of Different Types Of In-Store Displays On Consumer Purchase Behavior, Yoonju Han, Sandeep R. Chandukala, Shibo Li Oct 2021

Impact Of Different Types Of In-Store Displays On Consumer Purchase Behavior, Yoonju Han, Sandeep R. Chandukala, Shibo Li

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

Research on consumer in-store shopping behavior does not account for the existence of different types of display locations (e.g. storefront, store rear, secondary, front end cap, rear end cap, and shelf displays). This article focuses on accounting for and understanding the impact of various displays on consumer purchase behavior based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) theory. Specifically, we study how displays closer to and farther from the main location of the focal category influence consumer purchase behavior. Furthermore, within the different types of displays we investigate the impact of specific types of displays on consumer's category purchase and brand choice and …

Designing Targeted Mobile Advertising Campaigns, Kimia Keshanian Jun 2021

Designing Targeted Mobile Advertising Campaigns, Kimia Keshanian

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

With the proliferation of smart, handheld devices, there has been a multifold increase in the ability of firms to target and engage with customers through mobile advertising. Therefore, not surprisingly, mobile advertising campaigns have become an integral aspect of firms’ brand building activities, such as improving the awareness and overall visibility of firms' brands. In addition, retailers are increasingly using mobile advertising for targeted promotional activities that increase in-store visits and eventual sales conversions. However, in recent years, mobile or in general online advertising campaigns have been facing one major challenge and one major threat that can negatively impact the …

The Importance Of Assortment Discipline In The Retail Environment, Reed Fraser May 2021

The Importance Of Assortment Discipline In The Retail Environment, Reed Fraser

Marketing Undergraduate Honors Theses

The primary objective of this paper is to emphasize and explain the importance of assortment optimization while analyzing a plan to create a disciplined assortment in United States retail stores. Assortment optimization has a direct effect on consumer decisions as this paper looks at some examples of success and failure while demonstrating the use of data processing systems created to help assist with assortment optimization for companies. Finally, an independent study through the execution of an internship was conducted that completed an assortment optimization project within Walmart. All recommendations given to the company were accepted which led to increased customer …

Price Optimization For Revenue Maximization At Scale, Nikhil Gupta, Massimiliano Moro, Kailey A. Ayala, Bivin Sadler Jan 2021

Price Optimization For Revenue Maximization At Scale, Nikhil Gupta, Massimiliano Moro, Kailey A. Ayala, Bivin Sadler

SMU Data Science Review

This study presents a novel approach to price optimization in order to maximize revenue for the distribution market of non-perishable products. Data analysis techniques such as association mining, statistical modeling, machine learning, and an automated machine learning platform are used to forecast the demand for products considering the impact of pricing. The techniques used allow for accurate modeling of the customer’s buying patterns including cross effects such as cannibalization and the halo effect. This study uses data from 2013 to 2019 for Super Premium Whiskey from a large distributor of alcoholic beverages. The expected demand and the ideal pricing strategy …

Models And Solution Approaches For Integrated Student To School Assignment And School Bus Routing Problem Focusing On Special Needs Students, Azadeh Ansari Jan 2021

Models And Solution Approaches For Integrated Student To School Assignment And School Bus Routing Problem Focusing On Special Needs Students, Azadeh Ansari

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports

This dissertation addresses the integrated problem of assigning students to schools and generating school bus routes particularly focusing on the special needs students is addressed. Special needs students generally require supplementary accommodations and must be picked up from and dropped off at their home addresses. This will increase the number of nodes in the network and therefore introduces additional complexities to the problems of assignment and routing for students. An integrated single objective mathematical model is first developed that simultaneously assigns the students to schools based on their needs and generates efficient bus routes to deliver the students to their …
