Motivations For Planning: Uncovering The Inhibitors To The Adoption Of Comprehensive Financial Planning For Business Owners, Daniel R. Gilham
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Though comprehensive financial planning is well-known terminology, it is not a well-known or adopted concept. Broadly, financial planning is associated with investment management, but this approach is changing. Most research on financial planning is confined to the benefits, or process, behind planning. For business owners, coordinated, comprehensive financial planning should include the founder’s largest, most concentrated financial asset, the business they are running. The underlying motivations and bias that inhibit business owners from engaging in a comprehensive financial planning relationship has not been heavily researched. In this dissertation, I studied business owner inhibitors to the adoption of comprehensive financial planning …

Comparing Potential And Repeat Chinese Guests' Cruise Travel Intentions In Post-Covid-19, Lan Lu, Jinlin Zhao, Miranda Kitterlin
Journal of Global Hospitality and Tourism
This study extended the theory of reasoned action (TRA) by including cruise involvement, safety protocols, and trust (stimulus-organism-response paradigm), and risk perception (the prospect theory), developing a theoretical framework to explore and compare Chinese repeat and potential guests' travel intentions, thus making great efforts to rebuilding consumer confidence and recover operation at this stage of the post-COVID-19. The results show that guests' intentions were positively influenced by their perceptions of safety protocols, trust, attitude, subjective norms, and cruise involvement, respectively. In contrast with previous studies, present results showed that perceived risk has a significant positive effect on the intention of …

In the era of information technology and the Internet, travel apps have become a significant element influencing modern travel behavior. However, research in this context remains limited in the tourism literature. A convenience sample of 380 Algerian tourists was surveyed, and a total of 244 questionnaires were collected over three months. The method used to test the proposed hypotheses empirically was the multiple regression analysis using SPSS 26. Results showed that attitude, perceived behavior control (PBC), degree of satisfaction, …

Extending The Theory Of Planned Behavior To Explain Intention To Use Online Food Delivery Services In The Context Of Covid -19 Pandemic, Ahmed C. Bouarar, Smail Mouloudj, Kamel Mouloudj
University of South Florida (USF) M3 Publishing
The increased fear of getting COVID-19 led to significant changes in foodservice delivery and shoppers' behaviors. This paper incorporated trust and fear of COVID-19 into the theory of planned behavior (TPB) model to explore shopper’s intention to use online food delivery (OFD) services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. A self-administered questionnaire was developed to collect data from 278 respondents intercepted at the three largest shopping centers located in Algiers city (Algeria). A multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses of the model. This research found that intention to use OFD is significantly and positively affected by …

Perceived Firm Transparency: Scale And Model Development, Jennifer Dapko
Perceived Firm Transparency: Scale And Model Development, Jennifer Dapko
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
In the last few years alone, calls for transparency by consumers have grown louder. No longer are consumers willing to sit back and allow firms to make `closed door' decisions that benefit the company (and its executives) at the expense of consumers and society. This dissertation begins to answer the call for a greater understanding of transparency from both practitioner and academic perspectives. In particular, this dissertation focuses on systematically developing a succinct definition of perceived firm transparency, developing a valid measure of transparency, and empirically testing antecedents and consequences of transparency.
Two studies were conducted to develop the transparency …

Trust Development In Distributed Teams: A Latent Change Score Model, Evgeniya Pavlova
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Advances in collaborative work tools and communication technologies have made computer-mediated teams a part of virtually every organization. One of the challenges for members of virtual teams is the development of trust. This study examined the reciprocal relationship between trust and effectiveness in virtual teams, employing an input-process-output-input approach. Data were collected from 183 individuals comprising 61 teams. Teams participated in a computer-simulated search and rescue mission. Three alternative latent change score structural equation models were fit to the data to examine the bidirectional relationships between trust and effectiveness. Results revealed that the two
