Customer Tipping Patterns In Hospitality Sector: A Study In Goa, Edgar Dsouza Dr.

This research delves into the complex relationship between service quality, tipping behavior, and various influencing factors within the context of the hospitality industry. By collecting data from 19 casual and fine dining restaurants in Goa, India, the study focused on frontline employees, including waiters and barmen, who regularly interacted with diners. A total of 216 questionnaires were distributed during lunch and dinner periods, capturing diners' perspectives on service quality using a 7-point Likert scale.

The Recreation Opportunity Spectrum (ROS) has been used in a multitude of recreation planning and management applications, and has led the way for the development of the Water Recreation Opportunity Spectrum (WROS) – its water based counterpart. More recently the Tourism Opportunity Spectrum (TOS) has been identified as a valuable tool for assessing nature-based tourism viability and host community-visitor relationships (Butler and Waldbrook, 2003). Internships play an important role in a university curriculum because they allow students to gain practical experience and explore possible career paths. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the summer internship experience from the students’ perspective to determine whether they achieved course learning outcomes. We objectively examined the course evaluations from students who completed their summer internships within a recreation and leisure studies program.
