This lecture is about bonds. A bond is a debt investment in which an investor loans money to an entity (typically corporate or governmental) which borrows the funds for a defined period of time at a variable or fixed interest rate. It discusses the bond terminology, how to compute the price and yield of the different types of bonds. Additionally, it describes why bond prices change over time and how credit risk affects a corporate bond.

Much research has been conducted on charitable giving where it is analyzed as a single, undifferentiated philanthropic transfer concept. Relatively less research has explored factors associated with special donation types such as
1) bequests,
2) lifetime donations to specific cause types, or
3) the intersection of bequests and lifetime donations to specific cause types.
This dissertation provides new information addressing all three of these areas.

In 2010 Liberty University began a Patron-Driven Acquisition pilot program with ebrary. Since then, the program has grown dramatically. The presenters describe how the library uses past usage data to create a predictive formula for ebook use. New ebook titles were added to the program based on formula selections. Success of the formula was evaluated, and overall the results are positive. The presenters also explain how the library handles the purchasing and cataloging of the ebooks.
