Multiple factors affect a passenger's choice for the airport of origin and destination. However, many studies related to price formation or demand behavior leave one interesting factor behind, the existence of more than one airport in the same region, giving more than one option to the passenger. Two important multi-airport systems in Brazil were the object of this study: São Paulo (Congonhas and Guarulhos) and Rio de Janeiro (Santos Dumont and Galeão), the largest demand generating centers in the country, as well as two of the most important distribution centers of flights from South America. The results of the 30th annual national Airline Quality Rating (AQR). The most comprehensive study of the performance quality of the 10 largest airlines in the United States, the AQR is conducted by researchers at the W. Each year, airline passengers respond to the Airline Passenger Survey providing feedback of their experiences with major domestic (U.S.) airlines. The Airline Passenger Survey analyzes responses to a varied set of questions. This specific study is limited to the single open-ended question within the survey. This question is optional, but allows an opportunity to share any issues, concerns, and/or complaints regarding their own air travel experiences. There is no limitation on the number of words submitted. Through the application of a thematic coding scheme, results show what the highest concerns of airline passengers have been the last two years.

To optimize the U.S. airports’ operational performance, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provides various metric values (i.e., average gate arrival delays, the average number of daily aircraft operations, effective gate-to-gate times, and taxi-in and taxi-out times) attributed to NextGen programs. The U.S. airports are now expected of designing more efficient arrival and departure procedures as part of their NextGen capabilities. This study, therefore, examined the relationship between airport efficiency and capacity indicators, provided by the FAA as metric values, and the U.S. airports’ on-time arrival rates over the period from 2009 to 2017.
