Notwithstanding the fact that by their nature loose-leaf bookkeeping devices are difficult to control by patent and hence are manufactured in great variety in many parts of the world, it is gratifying to note that American products of this sort hold a dominant position in the principal markets, attributable largely to their superior workmanship, finish, and mechanical excellence.
