The article concerns two management concepts, namely: intellectual capital and business models of the company and is of a theoretical nature. The main assumption of the literary review conducted was to discuss these two constructs in the context of their common elements. Can a business model be analyzed in the context of intellectual capital elements? Or is it possible that intellectual capital components constitute those of a business model? This article attempts to provide an answer to these questions by taking advantage of the latest subject literature, one of key importance to this issue.

Streszczenie:Rozwój koncepcji modelu biznesowego oraz kapitału intelektualnego przedsiębiorstwa datuje się na lata 90. ubiegłego stulecia. Zaskakujący pozostaje fakt, że w ostatnich dwóch dekadach pojawiło się niewiele publikacji omawiających wpływ kapitału intelektualnego na tworzenie, funkcjonowanie czy innowacyjność modeli biznesowych, a koncepcja modelu biznesowego nie znajduje szerszego odzwierciedlenia w literaturze z zakresu zarządzania i pomiaru kapitału intelektualnego przedsiębiorstwa. Tymczasem w ramach tych dwóch koncepcji istnieje wiele obszarów analiz, które się pokrywają, a do których bez wątpienia należą: tworzenie wartości, wartość dodana, przewaga konkurencyjna, umiejętności, kompetencje, czy zasoby niematerialne. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie różnych ujęć klasyfikowania barier zarządzania wiedzą, ze szczególnym wskazaniem procesu identyfikowania barier z wykorzystaniem morfologii pola problemowego oraz metody delfickiej. Oba podejścia mogą zaowocować rozpoznaniem zbioru barier, adekwatnych do warunków funkcjonowania danej organizacji. Na podstawie przeglądu badań poszukiwano konsensusu w klasyfikowaniu barier zarządzania wiedzą w przedsiębiorstwie. Główny podział kształtuje się w oparciu o wewnętrzny (kontrolowany), bądź zewnętrzny (ograniczony stopień kontroli) charakter tych barier i określenie wpływu ich oddziaływania zarówno na przedsiębiorstwo, jak i pracowników. The Defense-Growth Relationship: An Economic Investigation Into Post-Soviet States, Bruce D. Mcdonald Iii, Robert J. Eger Iii

An important question stemming from the collapse of the Soviet Union is how defense spending has influenced the economic performance of the 15 member states since their establishment as market economies. This study furthers the understanding of the relationship between defense spending and economic growth using data from the states of the former Soviet Union from 1992 to 2007. A nonlinear production function was used for direct effects, and models of investment and employment were employed for indirect effects. Contrary to expectations, the findings show that continued reliance on the defense sector in post-Soviet states has helped overall economic growth. …

Subjective well-being explores the evaluations, both positive and negative, of how people experience their lives. Research in the field inquires how people perceive their well-being in different settings, including different cultures, regions and cities. A large number of different measures have been designed to capture subjective well-being. One of the most used SWB measure is the Personal Well-being Index (PWI), an evaluation of life developed by Cummins et al [(2003). Social Indicators Research, 64, 159–190] which proposes that satisfaction with life consists of seven different life-domains.
