As the United States continues to adopt sustainable practices and policies to combat climate change, it is important to consider how these green changes affect the workforce. The term ‘Green Jobs’ has become the colloquial term to refer to sustainable occupations, and despite its popularity in the literature, it often has different meanings in different settings. Our first goal was to explore these definitions and establish one to contextualize our research. We used data from the Occupational Information Network, and used their green job definition, which classifies jobs as green if, and how, they are impacted by the greening economy. …

Covid-19’S Impact On The United States Labor Market, Sean Patrick Orr

The goal of this paper is to investigate how COVID-19 impacted the US labor market, but more specifically how stay-at-home orders and other COVID policies adversely impacted the United States labor market. Using working papers from other economists, we can see who was so adversely affect and why. Also, how governments COVID policies impact the labor market. Using Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Local Area Unemployment data, the Center for Disease Controls Case Surveillance Public Use data, and state COVID-19 policies, I created graphs illustrating these factors. Twitter has demanded a presence in company brands since its start up in 2008, including the hotel industry. As an up and coming marketing tool, the social media website is still new to both hotels and their guests. Observing the different strategies incorporated by luxury and midscale hotels, the paper provides explanations on how these two segments differ in utilizing Twitter. Through direct interviews with US luxury and midscale hotels and analyzing individual Twitter feeds, it was found that luxury hotels and their target market are much more active on Twitter than the midscale hotel segment.
