Global virtual teams (GVT) are increasingly important in organizations. Barriers to knowledge sharing behavior (KSB) could negatively impact GVT performance. The purpose of this quantitative study was to discover the extent of predictive power of KSB on GVT performance and how Leader-member exchange (LMX) moderates this relationship. Research questions investigated the extent that KSB influences GVT performance and the extent that LMX moderates the relationship between KSB and GVT performance. LMX theory focuses on individual relationships between superiors and subordinates and ways each relationship impacts team dynamics and performance provided theoretical foundation for this study.
