Much research argues the importance of supporting social interactions in teams and communities. The field of mobile sensing alone offers significant advances in recording and understanding human and group behaviours. However, little is known about behavioural changes as a consequence of in-group phenomena. One prominent example is intra-group conflict, which naturally arises between diverse groups of people. We demonstrate the feasibility of our approach to extract mobility patterns of individual's group behaviours sensed from a WiFi indoor localisation system and explore how these patterns relate to their team processes. 62 students enrolled in a project-intensive module, Software Engineering, were tracked …

We explore how mobility patterns relate to team processes and states. 39 students in project teams were tracked over 82 days, yielding up to 8 million records. Preliminary analysis of this big dataset and interview data revealed differences in the mobility patterns of individuals based on their experience of conflict.

Whereas since the 1990s national and regional planners saw the creation of knowledge clusters as a panacea for gaining a competitive advantage to propel a region or country into a higher stage of industrial development, recent research suggests that connectivity (e.g. through broadband penetration or joint research connections with collaborators elsewhere) is one of the enablers for socio-economic development. This paper describes our capstone team’s experience toward building a IT system for business brainstorming at work. The Canvas project aims to facilitate the Business Model Canvas exercise between employees at NEC Corporation. Traditional brainstorming meetings require employees to be in the same location, are hard to organize and are hard to archive. Our team, Rokoo, developed a web application that resolves these challenges by allowing global employees to brainstorm together on the same platform.

Trust reciprocity, a special form of link reciprocity, exists in many networks of trust among users. In this paper, we seek to determine the extent to which reciprocity exists in a trust network and develop quantitative models for measuring reciprocity and reciprocity related behaviors. We identify several reciprocity behaviors and their respective measures. These behavior measures can be employed for predicting if a trustee will return trust to her trustor given that the latter initiates a trust link earlier. The fields of organizational behaviour (OB)/strategy and marketing have taken different paths over the past two decades to understanding organisational learning. OB/strategy has been pre-occupied with theory development and case study illustrations, whereas marketing research has taken a highly quantitative path. Although relying on essentially the same foundation theory, these two solitudes have had minimal cross-fertilisation. Furthermore, both fields tend to blur or usually ignore the distinction between structural and informal knowledge processes. The marketing literature, in particular, relies on the MARKOR scale, which measures structural knowledge processes.
