Unless and until the Government augments the indigenous food production substantially over present production; modernize and increases the storage capacity for food grains; streamlines public distribution system and selects genuine beneficiaries; the dream of providing the balanced nutritious food for all people will not become real.

Cfp: Handbook Of Research On Technological Applications And Innovation For Economic Development, Deogratias Harorimana Mr

Dr Deogratias Harorimana

The innovation in the 21st century goes significantly beyond the high-tech picture driven by small or large industry clusters in a specific region-typically Silicon Valley and M4Corridor. The future of innovation will lie within knowledge management and seamless technological applications. These will be supported by planned funding strategies, possibly with clients as drivers of the innovation. This view seems to be supported by the UK government “Technology and Innovation Futures” (2011); the USA government (2011), study into which leading scholars concede that the future innovation and technological applications for economic growth will include products and processes, improvements in areas such …

Exploring Alternatives For Sustainable Development In The Tamiahua Wetlands, Luis Felipe Luna-Reyes, Jorge A. Durán-Encalada, Erick R. Bandala

Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation JEMI

This article presents a preliminary System Dynamics model developed to analyze the sustainability of a natural reserve in Mexico: the Tamiahua Wetlands. Wetlands are often referred to as nature’s kidneys because they filter contaminants from water. In spite of their importance, wetlands are endangered areas around the world. In order to build the model we take into account the Fishbanks model developed by Meadows (2004) as a starting point. Then, the model considers variables related to changes in total and economically active populations, and contaminants in water. The preliminary model presented in this study implies that fishing activity in the …

What We Learn About Global Systemic Risk With Neurosciences, Armando F. Rocha Jan 2013

What We Learn About Global Systemic Risk With Neurosciences, Armando F. Rocha

Armando F Rocha

Financial market crises are frequent events that trigger large financial losses and represent important global systemic risk (GSR). GSR forecasting is, therefore, a necessity to avoid the collapse of the global financial market. Understanding GSR dynamics is imperative if GSR is to be forecasted and controlled. Traditional finance theories have developed many tools for risk management that proved to be unreliable in the case of the 2008 Crisis. Recent results on financial decision-making provided by Neurosciences have being used to model the stock market dynamics. This approach is used, here, to model stock price evolution in 20 bourses during the …

A Neuromarketing Study Of Consumer Satisfaction, Armando F. Rocha, Fábio T. Rocha, Lucia H. Arruda

Armando F Rocha

The interest of marketing science in using neuroscience techniques to understand the consumer’s thought processes, dates back to the 1970s, when EEG data were recorded while subjects were watching TV commercials. Recently, fMRI was used to study the neural correlates of culturally based brands and neural predictors of purchases. These studies have discovered important properties of the neural circuits that are associated with consumer decision-making process and satisfaction. Here, EEG brain mapping was used to study the dynamics of the brain activity associated with these processes. The present study validated the EEG technology as an adequate neuromarketing tool and shows …
