Workplace Mentoring And Career Resilience: An Empirical Test, Ridhi Arora Research Scholar, Santosh Rangnekar Associate Professor

The present study sought to investigate the role of mentoring relationships in predicting career resilience. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey based research design using a sample of 205 managers from public and private sector organizations in North India. Mentoring relationships were measured under the 2 broad categories of career mentoring and psychosocial mentoring in alignment with previous studies. The findings showed that psychosocial mentoring acts as a significant predictor of career resilience;however, career mentoring was not found to have any significant influence on career resilience. This article explored the data collected regarding the Influence of organisational formal control, group norms and self-regulatory efficacy on workplace deviance in the Nigerian universities. Three hundred and fifty four teaching staff from various universities located in north-west geopolitical zone of Nigeria completed a self-administered questionnaire on 4-point Likert-scales. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) application package version 18. An initial data screening and preliminary analysis was performed in order to satisfy the assumptions of multivariate analysis. With the dwindling of natural resources, like oil and gas, even resource-rich countries like Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia have to re-adjust their development strategies. Governing knowledge for development (K4D) is seen as a way out of the dilemma of reduced revenues from natural resources. This paper analyses the attempts to create knowledge clusters as a strategy to move Brunei and Malaysia towards knowledge-based economies. Our study shows that several knowledge clusters have already been established in Peninsular Malaysia and are starting to emerge in Brunei Darussalam.
