Dual career families are more resistant to undertaking expatriate assignments primarily due to the difficulties associated with the trailing spouse not being able to find a job overseas and the potential net financial loss for the couple. As reported in other research, the failure of spouse or family to adjust is the number one reason for expatriate failure, therefore, a model for selecting expatriate candidates that accommodates the dual career family should help international human resource managers. Because there has been a nursing shortage for the past decade and because the competition between employers for experienced registered nurses is fierce, I utilized archival quantitative data from a syndicated advertising database known as The Media Audit, quantitative data I collected from 100 surveys, qualitative data that I collected from 15 interviews, and qualitative data that I collected during 20 hours of observations in hospital cafeterias and nearby restaurants to discover how RNs use media, whether or not they share these media as an occupational co-culture, & their attitudes toward recruitment advertising in these media. In this paper we present a tool to help reduce the uncertainty presented in the decision-making process associated to the selection and hiring of a professional athlete. A weighted mean hemimetric for fuzzy subsets with trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (TrFN) as their elements, allows to compare candidates to the “ideal” player that the technical body of a team believes should be hired.

Artykułu przedstawia koncepcję zasobowej teorii przedsiębiorstwa, w której nawiązano do poglądów reprezentantów tej teorii, którzy wnieśli największy wkład w jej rozwój oraz charakterystykę. Zwrócenie uwagi na efektywność przedsiębiorstwa z perspektywy podejścia zasobowego. Ponadto autorka zawarła rozważania na temat rozumienia wartości i przewagi konkurencyjnej w tym właśnie ujęciu. Artykuł kończy refleksja nad koniecznością rozwinięcia tego podejścia w kierunku zbadania wpływu wykorzystania zasobów niematerialnych na wzrost wartości rynkowej przedsiębiorstw oraz kierunki rozwinięcia tej teorii.
