Undated solicitation letter (ca. 1933) from Spalding Laundry & Dry Cleaning Co., Louisville, Kentucky, for its Daily Infant Laundry Service. Includes a booklet for recording infant weight and height and providing diet guidelines for the first twelve months. The letter bears the National Recovery Administration’s “blue eagle” symbol.

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Collection 649. Five account books for a grist mill and saw mill located in East Fork, Metcalfe County, Kentucky, as well as logging operations. The account books list wages paid for daily work as well as for piece work (handles). Employees were sometimes paid in cash, but most of the wages were paid in flour, mill, or other general store goods. Some of the accounts are for customers, not employees.

Pearce discusses debts due to Whyte and urges Whyte to satisfy debts he owes to Pearce. He also refers to having his brother-in-law William Clark, an estate legatee, sign a deed of release for lands sold to Whyte.
