Traveling within the United States is extremely costly. Low-cost airlines such as Southwest Airlines do exist but they do not provide the prices and efficiency that Ryanair, a United Kingdom based airline, does. Traveling throughout Europe is cheap and easy, jet setting to an Italian villa, when one lives in the middle of London would be considered completely normal. This exploratory study identified generational preferences for receiving information from management through different communication channels and determined if age predicted productivity for productive and unproductive information received through different communication channels. This is the first study to empirically examine the relationship between age cohorts, communication channel preferences, information categories, and productivity. Sample participants worked as Extension agents at a major land-grant university. The four generations represented in the sample utilized multiple communication channels and were geographically dispersed throughout the state. Managers of environmentally focused mutual funds hold a leadership position with investors, and have an ethical responsibility to explain the environmental screens. The public filings of environmentally focused, actively managed funds were reviewed to determine what non-financial screening information was made public. Content analysis was conducted on the screening verbiage for environmental key words as a means of identifying screen passages within the prospectus. Quantitative analysis was conducted to determine the commonality of the holdings for environmentally focused funds. The mam objective of this study is to contribute to the academic literature by investigating the relationship between narrative disclosures and corporate performance based on Australian evidence. The research design takes as its starting from the content analysis of discretionary narrative disclosures conducted by Smith and Taffler (2000), and extends their research by combining thematic content analysis and syntactic content analysis.
