One collateral effect of the crisis and the, at times, scorching antagonisms that have afflicted banks and their customers has been an unfathomable reluctance on the part of banks to interact with their consumers. Therefore, this research spots the light on …

These patterns could then be generalised and used in different disciplines. In this paper, we study the brain state during decision making in a lottery experiment. An EEG device is used to capture brain signals during an experiment to extract the optimal state for logical decision making. After collecting data, extracting useful information and then processing it, the proposed method is able to identify rational decisions from irrational ones with a success rate of 67%.

Teaching How Supply Chain Operations Impact Financial Results: A Case Study Using Cloud-Based Simulation, Michael J. Murray

Southwestern Business Administration Journal

Understanding how the execution of the supply chain business processes affect the financial performance a firm is key to running a successful enterprise. These processes are integrated across many functional groups within a business organization, and it is difficult to illustrate this integration in a classroom setting. Estimating The Effect Of Poker Room Promotions On Player Traffic, Michael T. Paz, Mikhail M. Sher, B D. Mccullough, Shabnam Zarin

UNLV Gaming Research & Review Journal

This paper examines the impact of poker room promotions on player traffic in casino-based poker rooms. Casinos regularly spend significant portions of their marketing budget on promotions, including free-play, item-based offers, complementary hotel rooms, and travel reimbursements (among others), in an effort to drive casino traffic. Poker room promotions, by contrast, are unique within the context of casino promotions because they are both player-funded and paid in cash. Despite these significant differences between poker room and other casino promotions, prior research has not provided empirical evidence on the effectiveness of poker room promotions. Using collected data on casino-based poker games …

Japanese Society and Culture

This study aims to apply a systems approach to analyze the development of an education system for remote asynchronous debates. Although several studies have applied a systems approach to various objects, they attempted to improve projects using the approach by intention. However, in our study, the use of a systems approach was an unintentional part of the process, with stakeholders not being explicitly aware of the concepts behind systems thinking. In the midst of the process, a variety of systems thinking methods were partially adopted, making the project more systemic; however, the project was not oriented to follow specific problem-solving …
