Expanding The Dimensionality Of Team Deviance: An Organizing Framework And Review, Trevor Spoelma, Tamanna Chauhan
Expanding The Dimensionality Of Team Deviance: An Organizing Framework And Review, Trevor Spoelma, Tamanna Chauhan
Faculty and Staff Publications
Although team deviance is known to detract from team functioning, extant literature largely focuses on deviance that is independently enacted and directed internally toward other members. This relatively narrow focus poses limitations to the practical application of strategies to reduce the incidence and negative impact of team deviance. We offer a four-dimensional typology that takes into account features of team deviance that are important yet undertheorized: level of coordination and target membership. We use this typology to summarize current research, highlight the narratives on team deviance that underlie each dimension, and discuss how to advance the research domain.

The selection of adequate personnel is significant for the successful operation of companies. Therefore, this article observed the application of the Preference Selection Index (PSI) method for evaluating personnel in the conditions of group decision-making. The PSI method was chosen because it does not require determining the weights of the criteria, which is why it can be suitable for application by HR managers unfamiliar with the application of multiple criteria decision-making methods.

What Does Social Entrepreneurship Mean To Change Agents In New Mexico? A Phenomenographic Approach To Understanding Social Entrepreneurship, Audriana Stark
Organization, Information and Learning Sciences ETDs
Social entrepreneurship has been identified as a solution to some of the world’s most pressing problems, including health, education, and environmental issues. Despite the rise in literature about social entrepreneurship, there is still a lack of understanding how place-based social entrepreneurship is being conceived and experienced by practitioners. Therefore, this study uses a phenomenographic approach to understand what social entrepreneurship means to change agents in New Mexico, a place characterized by social and economic challenges, as well as an abundance of natural and cultural resources. The findings revealed five distinct categories of description for social entrepreneurship including: Category 1. No …

More Than Idle Talk: Examining The Effects Of Positive And Negative Team Gossip, Trevor Spoelma, Andrea Hetrick
More Than Idle Talk: Examining The Effects Of Positive And Negative Team Gossip, Trevor Spoelma, Andrea Hetrick
Faculty and Staff Publications
Gossip is a behavior that has been traditionally viewed as harmful in organizations. However, a more balanced perspective has emerged in recent years that suggests gossip can have important benefits. We propose that one way to uncover potential benefits of gossip in teams is to focus on the valence (positive or negative nature) of the gossip. Drawing on expectancy theory, we propose team gossip indirectly influences team performance through social loafing because it plays a key role in shaping beliefs about effort in team contexts; effects determined by team gossip valence. We hypothesize that positive team gossip decreases social loafing, …

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
In this article, we propose a novel concept of the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set by combining the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy set and the soft set. For possible applications, five kinds of operations (e.g., subset, equal, union, intersection, and complement) on single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft sets are presented. Then, several theoretical operations of single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft sets are given. In addition, the first type for the fuzzy decision-making based on single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set matrix is constructed. Finally, we present the second type by using the AND operation of the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set for fuzzy decision-making …

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
Plithogenic sets introduced by Smarandache (2018) have disclosed new research vistas and this paper introduces the novel concept of plithogenic cognitive maps (PCM) and its applications in decision making. The new approach of defining instantaneous state neutrosophic vector with the confinement of indeterminacy to (0,1] is proposed to quantify the degree of indeterminacy. The resultant vector is obtained by applying instantaneous state vector through the connection matrix together with plithogenic operators comprising the contradiction degrees. The connection matrix is represented as fuzzy matrix and neutrosophic matrix and the resultant vector is determined by applying plithogenic fuzzy operators and plithogenic neutrosophic …

Viability Of Zero-Based Budgeting Methods In The City Of Albuquerque, Justin P. O'Shea
Viability Of Zero-Based Budgeting Methods In The City Of Albuquerque, Justin P. O'Shea
Shared Knowledge Conference
This project’s objective is to study and propose an alternative budgeting method for use by the City of Albuquerque’s municipal government. Zero-base budgeting (ZBB) is a modern government budgeting process that allocates funds starting from a base of zero for operating units and requires annual justification of all resource and service items in the budget. Although traditional ZBB is rare in practice, local and state governments in the United States are starting to utilize elements of ZBB and are incorporating ZBB methods into their current budgeting process. Interannual variability in economic standing and resultant municipal revenues has prompted the City …

The notion of a neutrosophic quadruple BCK/BCI-number is considered in the first article (“Neutrosophic Quadruple BCK/BCI-Algebras”, by Young Bae Jun, Seok-Zun Song, Florentin Smarandache, and Hashem Bordbar), and a neutrosophic quadruple BCK/BCI-algebra, which consists of neutrosophic quadruple BCK/BCI-numbers, is constructed. Several properties are investigated, and a (positive implicative) ideal in a neutrosophic quadruple BCK-algebra and a closed ideal in a neutrosophic quadruple BCI-algebra are studied. Given subsets A and B of a BCK/BCI-algebra, the set NQ(A,B), which consists of neutrosophic quadruple BCK/BCInumbers with a condition, is established. Conditions for the set NQ(A,B) to be a (positive implicative) ideal of a …

Graph theory has numerous applications in various disciplines, including computer networks, neural networks, expert systems, cluster analysis, and image capturing. Rough neutrosophic set (NS) theory is a hybrid tool for handling uncertain information that exists in real life. In this research paper, we apply the concept of rough NS theory to graphs and present a new kind of graph structure, rough neutrosophic digraphs. We present certain operations, including lexicographic products, strong products, rejection and tensor products on rough neutrosophic digraphs. We investigate some of their properties. We also present an application of a rough neutrosophic digraph in decision-making.

The purpose of this paper is to present an e[xtension and alternative of the hybrid method based on Saaty’s Analytical Hierarchy Process and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution method (AHP-TOPSIS), that based on the AHP and its use of pairwise comparisons, to a new method called α -D MCDM-TOPSIS( α -Discounting Method for multicriteria decision making-TOPSIS). The new method overcomes limits of AHP which work only for pairwise comparisons of criteria to any-wise (n-wise) comparisons, with crisp coefficients or with interval-valued coefficients. α-D MCDM-TOPSIS is verified by some examples to demonstrate how it allows for consistency, …

In this paper, we present an extension of the multicriteria decision making based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) which incorporates uncertain knowledge matrices for generating basic belief assignments (bba’s). The combination of priority vectors corresponding to bba’s related to each (sub)- criterion is performed using the Proportional Conflict Redistribution rule no. 5 proposed in Dezert-Smarandache Theory (DSmT) of plausible and paradoxical reasoning. The method presented here, called DSmT-AHP, is illustrated on very simple examples.

Consumer Attitude Analysis For Three Albuquerque Mortuaries, Paul A. Smyer Jr.
Anderson School of Management Theses & Dissertations
An attitude is the predisposition of an individual to evaluate some symbol or object or aspect of his world in a favorable or unfavorable manner. Attitudes are developed during a process of interaction with the environment and they usually show an evaluative personal reaction. Consumer attitudes toward an individual firm develop in the context of this interaction. The firm by its actions in the administration of its business aids the consumer in his formation of attitudes toward that firm. Objective methods of observation were employed to identify user attitudes toward three mortuaries in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The data was statistically …

The second problem is to identify a task motivation method which possesses the properties identified in the solution to the first problem. A descriptive-analytic approach to solve the first problem involves a review of human relations observations and conclusions bearing on motivation of employed professionals. The solution to the second problem identifies the contingency management motivation method, used in progressive education settings, as a …
Satisfaction, Dissatisfaction, And Self-Actualization Among Top Level Employees Of The City Of Albuquerque - An Appraisal Of Organizational Climate., Vern H. Curtis
Anderson School of Management Theses & Dissertations
Having problem areas and potential problem areas identified within one's organization would be welcomed by most, if not all, administrators. It was the purpose of this thesis to identify and isolate any potential problem area or areas concerning high level personnel of the City of Albuquerque; also to establish any relationship between self-actualization and Rensis Likert’s organizational climate model. The primary tools for determining problem areas were a self-actualization test and Likert’s semantic differentials which characterize an organization's climate. Each department in the City was compared to the City in total to determine any differences with respect to those two …
