In recent years fishing effort for the blue summer/manna crabs (Portunus pelagicus) in Warnbro Sound has increased dramatically and concerns have been raised about the state of stocks of crabs in Warnbro Sound. As a result of the increased pressure being put on the limited resource, the relationship between professional and recreational user groups has become sensitive. It is therefore appropriate that measures ensure the responsible management of the Warnbro Sound Crab Fishery be introduced. CPAs use the auditor's report to communicate their opinions of an entity's financial statements and related disclosures. Concerned parties, in turn, use the report to assess the integrity of the financial statements and the accuracy of the disclosures.

In 1988, the American Institute of CPAs auditing standards board established new wording for the standard unqualified audit report. It also revised the reporting requirements and types of audit reports allowed (for example, the subject-to report for uncertainties and except-for report for consistency departures were eliminated). This Fisheries Management Paper outlines the management arrangements for the Marine Aquarium Fish Fishery that operates in State waters adjacent to Western Australia. These arrangements augment the previous management arrangements for the fishery of 1992 and supersede those arrangements. A limited entry fishery will be established for marine aquarium fish collecting. The other management arrangements are outlined in detail in the paper.

While both just in time (JIT) concepts and automation programs have been widely implemented and highly successful in large manufacturing companies, many smaller manufacturing companies have wondered whether it would be economically feasible to utilize these same techniques and derive these same benefits. When JIT is adopted by small manufacturers, it provides them with advantages over traditional manufacturing systems, such as lower cost, quality improvements, higher productivity, and less working capital tied up in inventory. Small US manufacturers must understand the basic principles and philosophy of JIT and update their production equipment if they are to be competitive in today's …

An After Tax Economic Analysis Of Home Equity Conversion For The Elderly, Lowell James Cramer

The FHA program to insure reverse mortgages has brought additional attention to the use of home equity conversion to increase income to the elderly. Using simulation, this study compares the economic consequences of the FHA reverse mortgage with two alternative conversion vehicles: sale of a remainder interest and sale-leaseback. An FHA insured plan is devised for each vehicle, structured to represent fair substitutes for the FHA mortgage. In addition, the FHA mortgage is adjusted to allow for a 4 percent annual increase in distributions to the homeowner.
