Introduction To Animal Therapy And Its Related Tax Benefits, Claudia L. Kelley, Christopher K. Eller

How are animals being used to improve the emotional and physical health of individuals? What are the tax implications associated with service and therapy animals? We examine these questions by providing an introduction to the subject of Animal Assisted Therapy, including how therapists and counselors are routinely using therapy animals in both individual and group treatment settings. Additionally, we discuss the potential tax savings that may be available to counselors and their clients who are using service and therapy animals. We also offer recommendations and guidance for counselors who wish to incorporate animal therapy into their treatment options.

Our second edition of MSR is dedicated to two populations – millennials and women. Currently, millennials comprise approximately 35%[1] of the United States’ workforce. Women hold 51.7% of the jobs in the U.S. job market.[2] This MSR issue focuses on the status of these groups in the business world. The reason for this emphasis is that most MSR writers and readers are millennials (which is defined as people between the ages of 18-24) and all of us work with or for women (as well as some of us are women).

Business Interruption (BI) insurance is not popular among the operators/owners of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. This study is an attempt to investigate causes of SMEs’ failure and to assist the owners on how to use BI to protect both the physical assets as well as future profits of their businesses. Iodine is an essential nutrient for the human body. It is required by the thyroid gland for producing the thyroxine hormone. Human body lacks the ability to self-produce iodine. Some sources of iodine in food such as seafood, milk, egg, fruits, and vegetables can be consumed to fulfill the daily needs. Table salt is one of the sources of iodine that is routinely consumed. According to SNI No. 3556:2010, table salt must be fortified with 30–80 ppm of potassium iodate. Investigation Of Intercalation Of Sodium-Montmorillonite With Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide Surfactant, Chandra J. Soegijono. B

Sodium-montmorillonite (Na+-MMT) was intercalation modified with octadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (OTAB) in aqueous suspension via an ion exchange mechanism. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) study indicates that OTAB is successfully intercalated into Na+-MMT layers and/or adsorbed on the surface of Na+-MMT. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed that the interlayer spacing of the Na+-MMT was extended with the content of OTAB increasing, and the maximum spacing can reach about 3.80 nm. Results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis reveals the morphologies change from spherical-like particles to high-aspect ratio flakes after modification. Different configurations of OTA+ chains within MMT interlayer are proposed …
