The effects of gender of observers and victims on perceptions of fairness in unjust situations were investigated. Subjects participated in group sessions and were blocked by gender and then assigned to either the disadvantaged female (read a composition concerning a femal who received poor outcomes) or disadvantaged male (read a composition concerning a male who received poor outcomes) group. After reading the composition, subjects completed a questionnaire which was related to the composition. The Use Of Music Therapy To Influence The Self-Confidence And Hostility Of Adolescents Who Are Sexually Abused, Joy Clendenon-Wallen

The purpose of this study was to determine whether music therapy would be an effective therapeutic medium for reducing hostility and increasing the self-confidence of sexually abused adolescents. The study utilized an experimental and control group which is unique in the sexual abuse literature. Most studies are descriptive or quasi-experimental in nature. Some of the subjects increased their self-confidence and decreased their hostility although no statistical significance was achieved for either group. This study describes the treatment problems of sexually abused adolescents and offers examples of non-confrontational and goal directed treatment strategies which can be achieved through music therapy. The purpose of this study was to investigate three models of family therapy: Bowen Theory, Haley's Strategic Family Therapy, and the Satir Process Model. The question that was explored concerned what family therapy approaches achieve what types of engagement, dropout, completion, satisfaction with treatment, locus of control, and family functioning outcomes with what kinds of delinquent families. Further, what effect do traditional court services have on a similar sample of delinquent youths and their families.;A non-equivalent, quasi-experimental design with pre and posttest treated (n = 188) and comparison (n = 61) groups was employed.
