The Colonelette
On September 22, 1949, Shirley Cupp, Irma Beisel, Frances Stuckey and Mr. Hilary Bufton Jr. met in a coffee shop in downtown Kansas City to incorporate the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA). Twenty-six women met at Western Hills Restaurant and elected Linda Sidebottom as the first president. Besides providing professional development opportunities for local businesswomen, the Chapter gave scholarships to women furthering their education, and held social and recognition events throughout the year. Their newsletter, “The Colonelette,” was started in June 1964. Also included …

Dreyfus: How He Was Framed, Donald E. Wilkes Jr.
Dreyfus: How He Was Framed, Donald E. Wilkes Jr.
Popular Media
When, 12 tumultuous years after it began, the Dreyfus case officially came to an end, one journalist was inspired with awe: "Historical records, criminal annals, romance and the drama, furnish no stranger tale of human life and destiny, than that which has reached its culmination in the final and complete exoneration of Dreyfus."
What Does Aristotle's Prime Mover Do?, Sarah Waterlow Broadie
What Does Aristotle's Prime Mover Do?, Sarah Waterlow Broadie
The Society for Ancient Greek Philosophy Newsletter
The Prime Mover of Metaphysics Lambda is the source, above all, of eternal motion in the first sphere. It may seem silly to ask 'What (according to Lambda) does the Prime Mover do?' The answer is obvious: 'He — or it — gives rise to the motion of the first sphere'. But according to a widely accepted interpretation, this is not what the Prime Mover does first and foremost; instead, the Mover essentially contemplates. This contemplative conception is my target here. I shall adduce reasons for suspecting that the contemplative Prime Mover is not an Aristotelian postulate in Lambda, but …

Orlando Gets Hockey But Not Nhl Hockey, Richard C. Crepeau
On Sport and Society
When the announcement came a little over a week ago The Orlando Sentinel fell over itself like the lapdog it has become for the Orlando Magic and the DeVoss family. It was of course the major news that Orlando was about to get a hockey team in the International Hockey League, and the city was about to facilitate the process with another sweetheart contract with the family DeVoss for use of the O-Arena.

Creative Works
"Tell us the story again," one begged. The others immediately chimed assent, and the chorus of "Yes" and "Please" arose.
"Are you sure?" I responded.
When the affirmative choir swelled again, I assented to their importuning. "It all began," I started, "a very long time ago, before I or my father or his father or even his father's father were born. It begins, as all good stories do, once upon a time."
