Finding aid only for Folklife Archives Project 1132. Student paper titled “Quilting: Past and Present” in which Sarah Nicks details the components of traditional quilt making. Nicks discusses piecing together patterns and the various motivations behind quilting. Information was collected by Nicks from family and friends. The collection contains color photographs of handmade quilts, a questionnaire related to quilting practices, and a sample piece of a quilt patch.

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Collection 382. Correspondence, account books, receipts, sermons, drawings, and diaries of the Venable family of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, chiefly John Wesley Venable, Sr. and his wife Fannie and son John, Jr. Of particular interest is an 1839-1839 travel journal kept by John, Sr. while in Florida. Also includes John, Sr.’s sermons and sermon preparation material as well as thirty-nine small diaries documenting his career as an Episcopal priest in Versailles and Hopkinsville. Includes one of John, Sr.’s art sketch books.

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Collection 241. Correspondence; financial and legal papers; genealogy and other material related to the Temple family of Warren County, Kentucky, particularly that of Adalaska L. and Mary Camilla (Miller) Temple and their daughter Ruth Hines Temple. Over 400 pieces of artwork on paper by the latter are found in the collection, including pencil, as well as, pen and ink drawings, watercolors, pastels, and other graphic and creative design work.
