This chapter also mentions the situation of cities in Massachusetts and the case of the city of Springfield and its neighborhood Memorial Square. Chapter II explains the goals and objectives for this project. Chapter III is the literature review of those areas that are pertinet to review for this kind of project. This report is the documentation for a design strategy of Brigham City, Utah's Main Street Historic District (MSD). The purpose of the project is to develop a strategy that can be used to guide future physical improvement to the MSD. The strategy developed in this report provides specific goals to reinforce MSD' s district identity, and enhance the pedestrian and public parking networks inside the MSD. Successful implementation of these goals will assure that the MSD will maintain a commercial and social importance for the city.

The purpose of this study was to assess the needs of four potential target audiences that would be using the Utah Botanical Center (UBC) for educational purposes. The target audiences included school children, college students, nursery and landscape industry, and the general public. The UBC is relocating to a larger site that has wetlands and ponds. The UBC has taken this opportunity to define its mission and goals. Part of its mission is to broaden its educational programming from horticulture based to programming including natural resource conservation topics. Planning methods that involve collaboration are gaining popularity and currently being applied in a variety of resource management issues . Based on current planning theory, researchers have proposed a conceptual collaborative model for environmental planning and management . This thesis evaluates the usefulness of the model to describe the range of factors important for the establishment and operation of collaboration in environmental planning. This iterative model suggests that collaboration emerges from a series of antecedents and then proceeds sequentially through problem setting, direction setting, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation phases.
