Three-dimensional (3-D) virtual environments have key affordances that can improve learning, particularly when context, culture, and pedagogical aims are aligned to a given learning situation. One challenge in detailing effective uses of 3-D virtual environments in teaching and learning contexts is that the design judgments involved are not always made explicit. We argue that the transparency of design judgments, as it relates to the use of 3-D virtual environments, are critically important. The creation of irregular curves has evolved from employing splines to computer aided design (CAD); with French Curves being an integral part of this evolution. Such curvilinear irregularity can be seen in the curve of the auditorium at the new academic building. This project investigates the origins of the French Curve, in terms of its history, usage, and mathematical components. For centuries, French curves were used to accurately create portions of ellipticals and other curves in schematic drawings. The accumulation of water runoff during rain storms is a major problem in New York City’s combination water systems, forcing water treatment plants to release untreated excess water. To avoid overfilling of the sewer system by this grey water, pocket parks and gardens will be used to absorb the excess rainfall. We will be harnessing nature’s resources with current technologies such as: solar panels combined with rain catching canopies, to beautify the environment, educate the public about sustainability, stimulate growth to local businesses through increased foot traffic and bringing social awareness on environmental issues.

The Urban Oasis is designed to work within existing “pocket parks” in New York City as a combined rainwater collector, personal electronics charging station and resting designation for New Yorkers. An oxbow in a river creates a peninsula with a unique environment, distant from the surrounding land. Similarly, the oxbow-shaped Federal Center South Building 1202 contains a peninsula, an enclosed atrium, with an environment unlike the flowing current of offices that surround it. The cool modern offices are contrasted with the warmth of the central timber structure. The exposed timber beams and columns consist of wood reclaimed from a warehouse that previously stood on the site. In conversation with the modern oxbow of offices, the timber is reinforced by steel beams, giving it new life.

อาคารสำนักงานเป็นสิ่งที่สร้างขึ้นมาเพื่อเป็นสถานที่ที่ให้ทั้งผู้ที่ไม่ได้ประกอบธุรกิจเชิงพาณิชย์ และผู้ประกอบธุรกิจเชิงพาณิชย์ใช้สอย และเมื่อมีผู้ใช้อาคารจึงจำเป็นที่จะต้องมีผู้ดูแลจัดการหรือที่เรียกว่าผู้บริหารอาคารเพื่อให้อาคารนั้น ๆ อยู่ในสภาพที่พร้อมใช้งานได้ตลอดเวลา การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อต้องการทราบถึงความต้องการและคาดคาดหวังจากการจัดการอาคารของผู้เช่าอาคารสำนักงาน โดยการส่งแบบสอบถามไปยังบริษัทผู้เช่าพื้นที่ภายในอาคารสำนักงานระดับ เอ ซึ่งตั้งอยู่บริเวณย่านธุรกิจการค้ามีอัตราค่าเช่าไม่ต่ำกว่า 750 บาท/ตารางเมตร/เดือน แต่ไม่เกินกว่า 1,000 บาท/ตารางเมตร/เดือน มีอาคารสำนักงานอยู่ในกรณีศึกษาทั้งหมด 6 อาคาร ได้แก่ อาคารสาทรซิตี้ ทาวเวอร์ อาคารเอเชียเซ็นเตอร์ อาคารซี.พี. ทาวเวอร์ อาคารจามจุรี ทาวเวอร์ อาคารเอ็มโพเรียม ทาวเวอร์ และอาคารอินเตอร์เชนจ์ 21 เพื่อทำการวิเคราะห์ สรุป และอภิปรายผล จากการศึกษาพบว่าผู้เช่าอาคารสำนักงานแบ่งได้เป็น 2 ประเภท ได้แก่ ผู้เช่าพื้นที่สำนักงาน และผู้เช่าพื้นที่ร้านค้า โดยผู้เช่าพื้นที่สำนักงานแบ่งได้เป็น 3 กลุ่มประเภทธุรกิจ ซึ่งทั้ง 3 กลุ่มนี้มีความต้องการและคาดหวังในแต่ละงานมากน้อยไม่เท่ากัน ผู้เช่าพื้นที่สำนักงาน และผู้เช่าพื้นที่ร้านค้ามีลักษณะที่แตกต่างกันทั้งในเรื่องอัตราค่าเช่า สัญชาติของ ผู้เช่า ประเภทธุรกิจ แต่มีความใกล้เคียงกันในเรื่องขนาดพื้นที่เช่าและขนาดขององค์กร โดยเมื่อนำประเภทธุรกิจของผู้เช่ามาวิเคราะห์พบว่าผู้เช่าทั้ง 3 กลุ่มประเภทธุรกิจและผู้เช่าพื้นที่ร้านค้ามีความต้องการและคาดหวังให้ฝ่ายบริหารอาคารดูแลเรื่องระบบความปลอดภัยของอาคารให้ได้มาตรฐานตามพระราชบัญญัติควบคุมอาคารมากที่สุดเหมือนกัน ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่าความแตกต่างด้านกลุ่มประเภทธรุกิจนั้น ถึงแม้จะมีความต้องการและความคาดหวังในการจัดการงานอาคารในแต่ละงานมากน้อยไม่เท่ากัน แต่ก็มีมุมมองในการให้ความสำคัญหรือความต้องการจากการจัดการอาคารในเรื่องของการดูแลระบบความปลอดภัยมากที่สุดเหมือนกัน

มีวัตถุประสงค์ จะเสนอแบบบ้านสำหรับ ผู้ประสบภัยพิบัติในสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ที่ตอบสนองในการเป็นทั้งที่พักอาศัยฉุกเฉิน ที่พักอาศัยชั่วคราวและที่พักอาศัยถาวร จากแนวคิดและทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้องจะต้องคำนึงถึงปัจจัยด้านรูปแบบ วัสดุและแรงงาน โดยรูปแบบอาคารต้องเรียบง่าย ต่อเติมได้ และแข็งแรง ใช้วัสดุที่หาได้ในพื้นที่ มีน้ำหนักเบา เพื่อให้สามารถใช้แรงงานน้อยหรือผู้อยู่อาศัยสามารถสร้างได้เองและสามารถต่อเติมได้ภายหลัง​ที่สามารถตอบสนองเป็น ที่พักอาศัยฉุกเฉิน ที่พักอาศัยชั่วคราวและที่พักอาศัยถาวรไปพร้อมกัน จากแนวคิดและทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้องจะต้องคำนึงถึงปัจจัยด้านรูปแบบ วัสดุและแรงงาน โดยรูปแบบอาคารต้องเรียบง่าย ต่อเติมได้ และแข็งแรง ใช้วัสดุที่หาได้ในพื้นที่ มีน้ำหนักเบา เพื่อให้สามารถใช้แรงงานน้อยหรือผู้อยู่อาศัยสามารถสร้างได้เองและสามารถต่อเติมได้ภายหลัง จึงเสนอรูปแบบบ้านเป็นอาคารชั้นเดียว รูปสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้า ขนาด 3.00 x 6.00 เมตร หลังคาแบบเพิงหมาแหงน ตัวอาคารแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน ส่วนแรกเป็นพื้นที่ภายในใช้เป็นที่นอนและพักผ่อน ส่วนที่สองเป็นพื้นที่ภายนอกที่ใช้ประกอบกิจกรรมอื่น ๆ มีช่องระแนงเพื่อระบายอากาศ โครงสร้างเป็นเหล็กรูปพรรณรีดเย็น วางบนตอม่อสำเร็จรูป พื้นภายนอกเป็นพื้นคอนกรีตเสริมเหล็ก พื้นภายในยกระดับโครงสร้างเหล็กยกระดับปูด้วยแผ่นไฟเบอร์ซีเมนต์ เช่นเดียวกับผนังโครงเคร่าเป็นเหล็กกาวาไนซ์ บุด้วยแผ่นไฟเบอร์ซีเมนต์ โครงสร้างหลังคาเป็นเหล็ก มุงด้วยแผ่นเหล็กเมทัลชีท เมื่อนำแบบไปก่อสร้างจริงในนครหลวงเวียงจันทน์ ต้องใช้เวลาก่อสร้างทั้งหมด 24 วัน เนื่องจากสภาพอากาศมีฝนตกหนักเกือบทุกวัน แต่ถ้านับเฉพาะทำงานจะเหลือแค่ 7 วัน ใช้งบประมาณ 70,290 บาท แบ่งเป็นค่าวัสดุ 50,290 บาท ค่าแรง 20,000 บาท เป็นค่าจ้างช่างในพื้นที่ 2 คน จากการสอบถามผู้อยู่อาศัยมีความพึงพอใจ แต่มีปัญหาฝนสาดเข้าตัวบ้านเนื่องจากชายคาสั้น มีช่องเปิดน้อยเกินไปทำให้แสงเข้าภายในบ้านไม่เพียงพอและระแนงตีแนวตั้งทำให้หักได้ง่าย นอกจากนั้น ช่างยังไม่คุ้นเคยกับวัสดุก่อสร้างสมัยใหม่ทำให้การก่อสร้างล่าช้าบางขั้นตอนในช่วงแรก ผู้วิจัยจึงได้ทำการปรับแบบใหม่ เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการสร้างที่อยู่อาศัยสำหรับผู้ประสบภัยพิบัติในสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาวต่อไป

สถานเอกอัครราชทูตและสถานกงสุลใหญ่มีการใช้ประโยชน์พื้นที่ห้องอเนกประสงค์เพื่อประกอบพิธีทางการทูตและกิจกรรมอื่นๆ หลากหลายรูปแบบตามนโยบายและแผนยุทธศาสตร์กระทรวงการต่างประเทศเป็นประจำอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยสามารถรองรับการดำเนินกิจกรรมหลากหลายรูปแบบและรองรับผู้ใช้งานหลายกลุ่ม นับว่าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่มีบทบาทในการแสดงออกถึงภาพลักษณ์และเกียรติภูมิของประเทศและประชาชนชาวไทย การใช้งานดังกล่าวอาจนำมาซึ่งปัญหาและอุปสรรคหลายประการ เช่น ขนาดพื้นที่ไม่มีความยึดหยุ่นกับการจัดกิจกรรม องค์ประกอบของห้องไม่สอดคล้องกับรูปแบบการจัดกิจกรรม ซึ่งจะส่งผลต่อภาพลักษณ์ของประเทศไทย อีกทั้งยังส่งผลต่อความปลอดภัยต่อชีวิตและทรัพย์สินของผู้ใช้พื้นที่และผู้เกี่ยวข้อง การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา สภาพทางกายภาพ ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสภาพทางกายภาพและการใช้งาน ปัญหาทางกายภาพที่เกิดจากการใช้งานห้องอเนกประสงค์ภายในอาคารสถานเอกอัครราชทูตและสถานกงสุลใหญ่ โดยมีระเบียบวิธีในการศึกษา คือ 1) ทบทวนเอกสาร หลักการและทฤษฎีที่เกี่ยวข้อง 2) ศึกษาและวิเคราะห์จากแบบก่อสร้างทางสถาปัตยกรรม 3) สำรวจสภาพทางกายภาพของห้องอเนกประสงค์โครงการกรณีศึกษา 4) สัมภาษณ์กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่เกี่ยวข้อง 5) วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล สรุปผลการศึกษาและข้อเสนอแนะ จากการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลพบว่าห้องอเนกประสงค์ควรถูกออกแบบให้มีความยึดหยุ่น สามารถรองรับการใช้งานที่หลากหลาย แต่ทั้งนี้การใช้พื้นที่เพื่อประกอบกิจกรรมแต่ละประเภทมีความต้องการทางด้านกายภาพที่แตกต่างกัน ขึ้นอยู่กับวัตถุประสงค์ ขั้นตอนในการดำเนินกิจกรรม ตลอดจนจำนวนและประเภทของผู้ใช้พื้นที่ ปัญหาทางกายภาพที่เกิดจากการใช้พื้นที่ที่พบมีสาเหตุจาก 1) ไม่ถูกจัดเตรียมไว้ในขั้นการออกแบบ 2) การใช้พื้นที่ไม่ตรงตามวัตถุประสงค์แรกเริ่มในการออกแบบ ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่า เพื่อให้สามารถใช้ประโยชน์พื้นที่อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพตามรูปแบบของกิจกรรมและประเภทของผู้ใช้งาน ควรมีการจัดทำคู่มือการใช้พื้นที่เพื่อเป็นแนวทาง คำแนะนำในการใช้พื้นที่ห้องอเนกประสงค์ในการจัดกิจกรรมต่างๆ สำหรับเจ้าหน้าที่ฝ่ายปฏิบัติการของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตและสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ตลอดจนการจัดทำรายละเอียดข้อกำหนดการออกแบบเพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการกำหนดรายละเอียดพื้นที่ใช้สอย ปัจจัยและเกณฑ์กำหนดสภาพทางกายภาพที่ต้องพิจารณาในการออกแบบพื้นที่อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ อันจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อเจ้าหน้าที่กระทรวงการต่างประเทศที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการออกแบบ ปรับปรุงอาคารสถานเอกอัครราชทูตและสถานกงสุลใหญ่ และผู้ปฏิบัติวิชาชีพที่เกี่ยวข้องอื่นๆ ต่อไป

บริเวณถนนศาลาแดงเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีพัฒนาการที่ดินอย่างยาวนาน โดยมีลักษณะการใช้งานที่ดินเป็นเขตศูนย์กลางทางธุรกิจ ส่วนมากเป็นอาคารขนาดใหญ่แต่จากการสำรวจพื้นที่พบชุดแปลงที่ดินขนาดเล็กที่เกิดจากการจัดสรรที่ดินมานานกว่า 40 ปีโดยยังคงสภาพท่ามกลางการพัฒนาและเปลี่ยนแปลงของพื้นที่ จึงเป็นที่มาของการศึกษาสัณฐานการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ดินจัดสรรขนาดเล็กในเขตศูนย์กลางทางธุรกิจของกรุงเทพฯ กรณีศึกษาถนนศาลาแดง แขวงสีลม เขตบางรัก โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1. ศึกษาพัฒนาการรูปแปลงที่ดินจัดสรรขนาดเล็กในเขตศูนย์กลางทางธุรกิจของกรุงเทพฯ กรณีศึกษาถนนศาลาแดง แขวงสีลม เขตบางรัก 2. วิเคราะห์รูปแบบการเปลี่ยนแปลงการถือครองที่ดินจัดสรรขนาดเล็ก กรณีศึกษาถนนศาลาแดง ตั้งแต่ ปี พ.ศ.2444-2562 โดยมีระเบียบวิธีวิจัยคือ การกำหนดขอบเขตพื้นที่และเนื้อหาในการศึกษา การสำรวจภาคสนามและการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเอกสารจากโฉนดที่ดินและสารบัญจดทะเบียน ซึ่งได้ทำการศึกษาจากกรณีศึกษาจำนวน 9 ชุดแปลงที่ดิน จากการศึกษาพบว่า 1. พัฒนาการรูปแปลงที่ดินจัดสรรขนาดเล็กกรณีศึกษาถนนศาลาแดง สามารถจำแนกออกเป็น 3 ช่วงได้แก่ ช่วงที่ 1 ปีพ.ศ.2460-2518 เป็นช่วงเริ่มต้นโดยมีแปลงแม่ของที่ดินขนาดใหญ่ก่อนกระจายการถือครองที่ดินออกไปด้วยการเปลี่ยนรูปแปลงให้มีขนาดเล็กลงซึ่งเกิดจากการตัดถนนศาลาแดง ช่วงที่ 2 ปีพ.ศ.2518-2522 เป็นช่วงที่มีการจัดสรรที่ดินในรูปแบบของโครงการอสังหาริมทรัพย์ขนาดเล็กเกิดขึ้น โดยมีลักษณะการเปลี่ยนรูปแปลงที่มีลักษณะคล้ายกันในทุกกรณีศึกษาและมีความชัดเจนของการเปลี่ยนรูปแปลงที่ดินมากที่สุด และช่วงที่ 3 ปีพ.ศ.2522-2562 เป็นช่วงที่ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการคงรูปแปลงที่ดินในลักษณะเดิมแต่มี 2 กรณีศึกษาที่เกิดการเปลี่ยนรูปแปลงที่ดินโดยการโอนกรรมสิทธิ์ถนนภายในเป็นสาธารณะและการรวมแปลงที่ดินเข้าด้วยกันเป็นแปลงขนาดใหญ่เพื่อสร้างอาคารชุด 2. รูปแบบการเปลี่ยนแปลงการถือครองที่ดินเกิดจากการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบภายในลักษณะการถือครองที่ดิน 3 ประเด็นคือ ลักษณะการถือครองกรรมสิทธิ์ชุดแปลงที่ดิน ประเภทผู้ถือครองที่ดินและลักษณะการใช้งานชุดแปลงที่ดิน โดยใช้การแทนค่าเชิงสัญลักษณ์แทนลักษณะที่เกิดขึ้นเพื่อให้เข้าใจภาพรวมแล้วจึงนำมาวิเคราะห์ตามช่วงเวลาของพัฒนาการรูปแปลงที่ดิน โดยสามารถจำแนกรูปแบบการเปลี่ยนแปลงการถือครองที่ดินตั้งแต่มีโฉนดที่ดินออกเป็น 3 รูปแบบ โดยรูปแบบที่เกิดขึ้นมากที่สุดคือ การคงสภาพเดิมนับตั้งแต่มีการจัดสรรที่ดิน จากข้อสังเกตพบว่า มีแนวโน้มสูงที่จะมีการคงอยู่ของตึกแถวในที่ดินจัดสรรขนาดเล็กซึ่งลักษณะดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่สร้างมิติความหลากหลายของเมือง ซึ่งส่งผลดีต่อการใช้งานพื้นที่นั้น ๆ หากต้องการรักษาสภาพการใช้งานควรมีการดูแล ปรับปรุงอาคารและปรับการใช้งานให้ตอบสนองต่อความต้องการในปัจจุบันและสภาพเศรษฐกิจและสังคม และหากต้องการต่อยอดการศึกษาหรือใช้เป็นฐานข้อมูลเพื่อศึกษาสัณฐานการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ดิน ควรมีการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมถึงลักษณะสถาปัตยกรรมและบริบทรอบข้างในเชิงสามมิติ หรือปัจจัยภายในและภายนอกที่ส่งผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงการถือครองที่ดินต่อไป
